All parents should
participate in the Georgia Parent Survey. Responses
from the Georgia Parent Survey will be used to calculate the
School Climate Star Rating.
The link to the Georgia
Parent Survey is posted below. After you click on the link,
a drop-down menu will appear and the parent will use the
drop-down menu to select their school district and their
school. Parents will be able to complete the survey using
their personal computers, smartphones, or iPads.

bus they are assigned to, and no bus passes will be

Pebblebrook High School Performing Arts Information
8th grade students interested in the Performing
Arts Program at Pebblebrook High School attended an
information meeting on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 with
Frank Timmerman, the Director of the Cobb County Center for
Excellence in the Performing Arts.
Each student received a handout which covered: 1) the
application packet; 2) the audition requirements; and 3) the
acceptance notifications (if admitted into the program).

Kennesaw Mountain High School is offering a career fair for
middle and high school families. This STEM career night has
been scheduled for January 27, 2014,
6:30 PM in the KMHS theatre. The keynote speaker will be
Gilda Lyon, GADOE STEM Coordinator, and the committee is
hard at work lining up engaging speakers for the breakout
sessions with professionals in STEM (science, technology,
engineering, mathematics)-related fields.
The PSTA is currently carrying Ear Buds and Flash Drives for
sale due to teacher requests for these to be provided by
students and their families for use in classes.

Parents Encouraged To Review New Common
The new Common Core Georgia Performance Standards (CCGPS)
are being implemented. Learn more about
how these new standards will better prepare Cobb County
students for future college and career choices on a special
section of the District website.
Intramurals begin at 8:00. Please enter at the front and
remain in the lower lobby until a PE teacher comes to get
you. No students are admitted to intramurals after 8:00.
