Spring Parking

Below are important dates for students interested in parking for Spring 2016:

Nov. 30 - Dec 9, 2015: Presale of parking permits to seniors, internship students, minimum day students

Dec. 10 - Dec. 16, 2015: Presale of parking permits to juniors, if available.

January 5, 2016: Sale of parking permits to all eligible students, grades 10-12, if available.

Final Exam Schedule

Final Exams will take place for Fall 2015 according to the schedule below:

Wednesday, December 16:
A Day final for any students with skinnies during the block they take the course

Thursday, December 17:
1st and 2nd block finals;
dismissal at 11:38 am

Friday, December 18:
3rd and 4th block finals (in the morning);
dismissal at 11:38 am

Shop with a Wildcat

Wheeler's 1st annual Shop With a Wildcat is less than 3 weeks away on December 5. High School volunteers need to turn in their money and attend a training this week.  Training is offered each morning the week of November 30, as well as after school on Wednesday.  T-shirts can be ordered for a cost of $10 for short-sleeved and $15 for long-sleeved.

Donations can be given to Mr. Church or Ms. Winston.  If you are a local business and would like to contribute to this great cause, please email david.church@cobbk12.org.  Thank you to Diversifood Corp and Zaxbys for already donating!

Wheeler Robotics Wins!

Kudos to the CircuitRunners, Wheeler High School's Robotics Team, for their 1st place finish at the BEST Competition on October 24 at Pope High School. They not only won the Robot Competition but also the Al George Electronics Award, given to the team with the best use of electronics on the robot, the Most Robust Robot Award and most importantly the BEST Overall Award! They have now qualified to compete at the BEST regional competition at Auburn University on December 5.

Congratulations to Ishan Chadha for being selected as the high school STEM Talk winner for the state. The GA STEM Forum is a really important event for GA educators who are searching for new ways to incorporate STEM into GA schools. He was selected as the STEMtalk winner out of hundreds of submissions and is invited to be a keynote speaker for the luncheon on Oct 27 in Athens. View his STEMtalk.

AP Exam Registration

Wheeler High School will begin the Advanced Placement Exam registration process on Monday October 12, 2015. While AP Exams do not occur until May, many of you are in AP classes that finish at the end of this semester. We want to make sure that you have ample opportunity to register for your exams.

Students wanting to take advantage of the Alternate Final Exam policy must register and pay by December 1 for Fall AP classes.

You may register for your AP Exam at the following site www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/112010.  Please have your credit or debit card ready when you register.

The AP exam website will close on March 4, 2016. After that date, you have to order with Dr. Havis and pay a $45 late fee.  Also, please note that AP Exams are given off campus at Eastside Baptist Church. There are specific instructions at the end of the registration site which discuss transportation and attendance at school on the day of your exam.

Practice for the New PSAT

Starting in Fall 2015, there will be a brand new PSAT.  Get some practice now by taking the practice PSAT.  You can download the practice test and answers by clicking here.

PSAT, SAT, and AP Prep through Khan Academy

Free prep for the NEW SAT and PSAT is now available. The College Board and Khan Academy have partnered to offer Free AP, SAT, and PSAT prep. This prep includes practice tests for the New PSAT and SAT.

The new PSAT will be administered in October. The new SAT will begin Sprin 2016.

Construction Update

We are very excited about the progress in construction for Wheeler's new Performing Arts Center and Gymnasium.  Below are some pictures for you to get a glimpse of what the new facilities will look like.
