Freshman Wildcat Daze is Wednesday, July 30 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm

Upperclassmen Wildcat Daze is Thursday, July 31 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm

During Wildcat Daze, the following is available to students and their families:

Beginning at 6:00 pm, students and families can gather to collect schedules in the front lobby of the New Building

Beginning at 6:15 and again at 7:15 (for Freshman night only- 7/30/14), there will be orientations in the auditorium that will include school information and construction updates.

Once schedules are collected, students may join clubs, purchase yearbooks, purchase Wheeler gear, walk the campus to find classroom locations, etc.

Note: The Lipscomb Gym will be closed due to refurbishing the floors.

We are anticipating that we will have parking on our new lot and parking will be available at East Cobb Middle School.

Construction Update:

We are currently making final traffic pattern plans for Arrival/Dismissal and Student Parking.  We hope to have a detailed map along with final directions by the week of July 21. The construction company is making great progress on our bus port and parking lot. See Below:

Coordinate Algebra Boot Camp

Coordinate Algebra Boot Camp will take place on July 21st-July 24th from 10:30am-1:00pm. Cost of the camp is $20 per student (cash only) and includes snack and all math materials. Transportation is not provided.

This camp is for students who are entering 9th grade and will be taking Coordinate Algebra with Support. Students who will be repeating the course are also welcome to attend. Space is limited to 40 students and the cost of the camp is non-refundable.

During the camp, we will be pairing incoming freshmen with magnet tutors to review concepts and techniques that will be essential to their success in high school math. Our goal is to make the camp as interactive as possible because of the small tutor/student ratio. In addition, we will be working on test taking strategies that will make standardized tests more manageable. At the end of the camp, students will leave with more confidence in their knowledge, a relationship with an upperclassmen who can help them navigate high school math, and a stronger mathematical foundation to be successful in high school.

Please email Amanda Morton at Martha.Morton@cobbk12.org with any questions.

Steve Raymond Chevy Drive for Perfection

Test Drive a New Chevrolet and Support Wheeler! Wheeler has a chance to receive a monetary donation from Steve Rayman Chevrolet through an upcoming “Test Drive Period.”  You can go to Steve Rayman Chevrolet at 2155 Cobb Parkway in Marietta and for each test drive through the rest of November  Wheeler will receive a $50 donation, new or pre-owned.  Once you make your test drive, ask for a voucher that gives you a code and directs you online to www.chevydriveforperfection.com/earn2learn, enter the code and select Wheeler High School.  It’s that easy! Last year we raised over $1100 dollars. We are competing against Osborne High School! Also, from now through the end of the year, our school will get a $100 donation per new and pre-owned car bought by a Wheeler family.
