ALL students will be released at 11:42!!


STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO LEAVE CAMPUS FOLLOWING FINALS!! The buses will run and the building will be locked. Staff have lots of work to do therefore NO STUDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED TO WAIT INSIDE THE BUILDING! If you are picking your student up please be timely as it may be raining, or it may be very hot, and the students MUST wait outside for their rides!


Course Request Changes:
Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors will receive their Course Request Profile on May 17th during Advisement. This document indicates the courses they are signed up to take for the 2017-18 school year.

If students want to make ANY changes, they must submit the Course Request Change Form by Monday, May 22nd at 11:59pm.

No changes will be made after May 22nd!



Summer Work Assignments

Below you will find the summer work assignments for those classes listed.

English- No summer reading
Math- No math packets
Science- AP Biology Packet
Social Studies-
          AP World History
          AP European History
          AP Government
          AP Economics

Please open the appropriate document for your class as soon as possible. There may be an action required on your part.

Please bring all summer assignments to the first day of classes, Monday, July 31, 2017 unless otherwise noted in the assignment.     



FINAL EXAM DATES


Fresh, Soph, JR Final Exams:

May 22- A day skinny finals

May 23- 1st & 2nd block finals during class;
       EARLY DISMISSAL 11:42 to buses

May 24- 3rd & 4th block finals in morning (during normal 1st & 2nd block times);
       EARLY DISMISSAL 11:42 to buses


GRADUATION:


Class of 2017 Commencement will take place in the Wheeler Arena at 6:30 pm. Tickets are required to attend!
 

Graduates must arrive in the cafeteria no later than 5:00pm for preparation! Parents will NOT be allowed to accompany their graduate into the cafeteria.

Doors for the handicap/elderly will open at 5:30pm. Only one companion may enter with them to assist them to their seat. Each person must have a ticket to enter the Arena!

Doors will open at 5:45 for everyone. Graduation will begin at 6:30 sharp. Everyone must have a ticket to enter, this includes small children & infants!

Doors will be closed while the graduates enter! No one will be allowed to enter during the processional & the singing of the National Anthem!

THE FOLLOWING ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE ARENA: BALLOONS, PACKAGES, FOOD, MONO/TRIPODS! PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ENTER WITH THEM AS YOU WILL BE DENIED ENTRY!

Graduation will not be live-streamed.

Following the ceremony, family members may meet their graduate in the Stadium for celebration and photographs. This is also where students will return their gowns and pick up their diploma from their homeroom teacher on the football field.

**All financial obligations, including library fines, payment for lost textbooks, and parking fines, MUST be cleared before final grades can be given and before the senior will be allowed to participate in Commencement practice on Monday, May 22, 2017. Also, if not cleared the student will NOT receive their Graduation Tickets or be able to participate in the Commencement Ceremony.



ACT and SAT Crash Courses

The Academic Booster Club, in partnership with Applerouth Tutoring, will offer an ACT and and SAT "Crash Course" to help students prepare for the June standardized tests. Each workshop includes 6 hours of tutoring and a full-length, graded mock test.

Free prep for the NEW SAT and PSAT is now available. The College Board and Khan Academy have partnered to offer Free AP, SAT, and PSAT prep. This prep includes practice tests for the New PSAT and SAT.

Wheeler Visitor Policy

We love to see our former students. However, to limit disruptions to the learning environment, we are limiting all former students’ visits to after school (3:30 pm) unless an appointment has been scheduled with the teacher you are visiting and verified by the front office staff.
