Wheeler Hosted Congressman Tom Price and
Superintendent Chris Ragsdale
On Wednesday, September 24, Congressman
Tom Price and Superintendent Chris
Ragsdale visited Wheeler High School.
The tour was inspired by members of our
Robotics Team/Circuitrunners who met
Congressman Price this summer. More
specifically, Zachary Cloud, Harris
Minear, Jackson Palmer and Naim Vasaya
were instrumental in inviting the
Congressman and leading the tour. The
goal of the visit was to highlight STEM
opportunities at Wheeler. The tour went
very well and both gentlemen were very
impressed with all of our students. The
best part was that the visit was totally
initiated by our students. Thank you
Congressman Price and Superintendent
Ragsdale for taking the time to visit
Wheeler High School.

This year Wheeler
Athletics will sponsor a tailgate party before each home
football game. The Wheeler tailgate party is a social
event / pep rally that will be held in the south end of our bus
port. Tailgating, an American tradition, involves playing loud
music, participating in leisure games, and grilling food.
Tailgate parties usually occur in parking lots at stadiums,
before games. Many people participate even if their
vehicles do not have a tailgate. In schools and communities
throughout the United States, there are athletic departments,
coaches and parents of student athletes who rely on pre-game
tailgating parties to build community and support for their
program and team. Wheeler’s Tailgate was developed to energize
the Wildcat Nation and establish a strong core of support year
every home Varsity Football game at 4:30 PM
Port Bay - adjacent to café, Fieldhouse, and bus pavilion.
