Dress Code

Standard School Attire

Shirts

All shirts must have a collar and must be long or short sleeved. Shirts may be the following colors: navy, light blue, or white. There may be no patterns, markings, labels or other designs on the shirt except an emblem that is no larger than 2”x3” in the upper left pocket area or sleeve. Shirts must be tucked in at all times.


Pants

Pants may be navy blue or khaki. Pants must be solid with no patterns, labels, or other markings. In addition, there may be no holes or tears in pants. A belt must be worn with pants if there are belt loops. No jeans or denim material is permitted. No leggings, jeggings or other skin tight fabric is permitted.


Shorts

Shorts may be navy blue or khaki only. Shorts must be solid with no patterns, labels or other markings. In addition, there may be no holes or tears in shorts. A belt must be worn with shorts if there are belt loops. No jean, denim, gym or workout type fabric is permitted. Shorts may not be shorter than 3 inches above the knee. No cut-offs are allowed. All shorts must have a hem.


Skirts/Dresses/Skorts/Jumpers

Skirts, skorts, jumpers, and dresses must be navy blue, khaki, or blue plaid. No jean, denim or skin tight material is permitted. Skirts and dresses may not be shorter than 3 inches above the knee. Navy blue, khaki, or blue plaid jumpers may be worn with a standard school attire collared shirt underneath.


Sweaters/Sweatshirts

No hooded sweaters or sweatshirts can be worn during the school day. All sweaters and sweatshirts must be solid colored in blue, white, or grey. There may be no patterns, markings, labels, or other designs on the shirt except an emblem that is no larger than 2”x3” in the upper left pocket area or sleeve. No pictures, labels or writing may be on the back of a sweatshirt or sweater. When wearing a sweater or sweatshirt, a standard school shirt must be worn underneath with the collar showing. Turning sweatshirts or jackets inside-out is not an acceptable correction to standard student attire.


Shoes

Closed-toe shoes and sneakers of any kind are allowed. Boots are also permitted. Shoes, boots, and sandals may not have any heels over 1 inch.


Socks and Stockings/Tights

All visible socks, tights, stockings, or other foot covering must be solid and are permitted in the following colors: blue, black, brown, or white. No other colors or patterns are allowed.


Purchasing Standard School Attire

Gently used standard school attire is available at the Belmont Hills uniform store. Shirts are available for $1 each, sweaters and sweatshirts for $2 each, and bottoms (pants, shorts, skirts, dresses) for $2 each. Standard student attire can also be purchased online at Wal-Mart.


Friday Spirit Days

Fridays have been designated as Spirit Days at Belmont Hills. On Fridays only, students may wear a navy t-shirt with the Belmont Hills logo on it. These t-shirts may be short or long sleeved. Shirts are available for purchase from Belmont Hills. Students in Belmont Hills T-shirts are allowed to wear denim pants or skirts on Friday only. Denim pants or skirts are not allowed any other day of the week.
