The Cobb County School District provides services for identified gifted students at all grade levels that are designed to meet the specific academic needs of gifted students. Cobb adheres to the rules and regulations established by the Georgia Department of Education for identification and service of gifted learners.

The Gifted Learner Program (Target) provides services for identified gifted students in grades 1-5. Gifted services are designed to meet the specific academic needs of gifted students by emphasizing the following competencies:

· Critical and creative thinking

· Higher order reasoning

· Extensive and advanced research skills

· Advanced and accelerated academics

We also offer Talent Development services to address the needs of high ability learners by extending grade level standards and providing challenging experiences for participating students to learn to think critically and creatively.

Advanced Content math is offered in 4th and 5th grades for students who demonstrate exceptional ability and motivation in mathematics.
