Meet Our Assistant Principal: Melissa Barnhart

LaBelle Families,
I am very excited for the opportunity to join the LaBelle team as the new Assistant Principal! I’d like to share a little about myself so you can get to know me better. I am originally from Cartersville, GA and graduated from Woodland High School. After high school, I attended Georgia Southern University and received my bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. Later, I attended Kennesaw State and earned my master’s degree in Teacher Leadership and my Tier I certification in administration. This is my 14th year in education and am coming from Frey Elementary in Acworth as their Instructional Support Specialist. Before going into administration, I taught kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades.
My family is very important to me and feel lucky to have their support as I start my new journey here at LaBelle. My husband, Allen, is a regional restaurant manager in Roswell. My son, Blake, is 5 years old and is starting Kindergarten on Monday! We also have a bossy Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie) mix, named Belly. Outside of school I stay busy with activities for my son, but love to listen to audio books, try new restaurants, and go to Braves games in my free time.
I look forward to getting to know you and your children this school year and working alongside the LaBelle staff to continue their outstanding tradition of educating your young scholars!
Sincerely,
Melissa Barnhart
