Content Acquisition Survey for Parents
To ensure that teachers have ample time to review English Language Arts (ELA) resources in Fall 2016, Cobb County Schools would like parents to complete a needs assessment survey for grades 3-12 Language Arts.

This will ensure we have the best ELA content and resources available to our students and teachers as we move our district forward!

Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy at Kell
Kell High School is looking for upcoming 9th graders to be part of the Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy.  The team of 9th-12th-grade students will complete a community project next school year while learning valuable leadership skills.

Next year we will be partnering with this group for young ladies and they will meet at Palmer once a week.  Destiny’s Daughters of Promise is grounded in leadership development and basic life skills that serve to help teen girls discover their strength, potential and leadership abilities.  The projects they do are designed to connect school learning with real-world experiences.

Palmer Teacher of the Year and Employee of the Year!

Palmer Middle is proud to announce Mrs. Jacquie Mericka-Brand as its 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year!  Mrs. Mericka-Brand is the Science Department Lead and teaches 8th grade.

Mrs. Mandy Woodham is Palmer's 2016-2017 Classified Employee of the Year.  Mrs. Woodham works as the Media Center parapro.

Congratulations to both of these wonderful, hard-working ladies who always put students first!

 Advanced Ed Parent Survey – We Need Your Input!
Parents are encouraged to participate in the AdvancED Parent Survey.  The data from this survey will inform the school and the district about parents’ opinions about our school.  Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to AdvancED for analysis.  Individual data results will not be available to the public and will not be posted online.  You may use any personal device to complete this survey.  The AdvancED Parent Survey will be open February 22 – April 29.  Please click here

Palmer Academic Team Advances to GA State Semi-Finals!

The Palmer Academic Team won first place among the top two Region 2 schools, and moves on to the Georgia State Semi-Finals on January 30th. Good luck!


Palmer Science Teacher Winner in Cobb Tank Grant Competition!

Congratulations to teacher Tami McIntire and family, one of the prestigious winners of the Cobb Tank Grant Competition! Palmer Re-Validated as an
AVID National Demonstration School

Palmer Middle School officially received re-validation as the only AVID National Demonstration School in the state of Georgia!! Our AVID program met the standards for supporting the program effectiveness and student progress. The AVID program is designed to increase students’ achievement, develop skills in writing for learning, achieve success in honor classes, and become an effective learner in groups.

Congratulations to all who helped make this possible including: our AVID students, the AVID site team, the school administration, and especially our AVID site team leader Mrs. Dora Brown and our AVID instructor Mr. Vijay Koilpillai!!
