Cobb EMC Grant Recipient

Congratulations to Mrs. Rachel Jones!  We are so excited to receive a $500 grant for Theatre Instruction and Support of the drama program here at Pope.

Spring Parking - Juniors

Juniors who are interested in submitting their name into the lottery for Spring Parking need to click on the link below and complete the form by Jan. 8th at 3:30pm.  Please remember you must have a valid Ga. Drivers license (NOT a driving permit) to be eligible for a space.  Please remember completing the form is not a guarantee of a parking space.  You will be notified by email with regards to whether or not you received a parking space.

 Junior Spring Parking Request

Print and complete the following 3 forms ONLY IF you are given a parking spot

  1. Cobb County Board of Education Parking Permit Form. This requires the signature of a parent or guardian, as well as the vehicle ID number and tag number.
  2. Pope High School Rules and Regulations sheet.  This requires the signature of a parent or guardian as well.
  3. Cobb County Notification of Truancy and Tardy Rule.  This requires the signature of a parent or guardian as well.

Then:

  1. Make a copy of the student's current valid license.
  2. Make a copy of the current insurance card for the car you will be parking.
  3. Payment options: Bring a check made payable to Pope High School or cash in the amount of $50 on January 10th.

Students will register for their parking space with all of the above documentation and payment on January 10th during lunches in front of PPO.

Cafeteria Payments

Please check your student’s My Payments Plus account at https://www.mypaymentsplus.com/ regularly to ensure there is sufficient money to receive a meal, as well as to clear up any possible negative balance.

 If your student is returning to Pope High School or any Cobb County school next year, any money on their lunch account as of May 20rd will rollover to next school year.  If your student is graduating or leaving Cobb County School District and has a positive balance left in the lunch account, you have three options to explore. 

  1. The first option is to request a transfer of the remaining balance to any other student you may have at Pope High School or any other Cobb County Public School. 
  2. The second option is to request a refund of the balance left in the lunch account. 
  3. The third option is to donate the remaining balance left in the lunch account to the CCSD’s lunch donation account.  This account helps to cover the cost of school lunch for students that may not have enough in their lunch accounts.

All requests must be done in writing through an email or completing a refund request form in the cafeteria.  Refund requests include the student information, id number, refund amount, and the name/address of the enrolling adult on file so a check can be mailed out.  Please contact Tanya Dampier – Cafeteria Manager, at 770 578 7901 or send an email to Tanya.Dampier@cobbk12.org with any questions.  Also, please make sure to deactivate any automatic payment you may have attached to an account that you a requesting a refund from. 

Please be advised, the school cafeteria will be closing on May 20th.   The Central Office for Food and Nutrition Services is open during the summer and will be able to help with and issues that may arise during the summer. 

Check Out Policy

Early check out from school is discouraged. Students and parents should try to arrange medical and other appointments after school hours. A parent, guardian, or administrator must grant permission to check out in every case. Under non-emergency circumstances, the parent should send a note which MUST be turned in before 11:30 am.  Last minute appointments do happen; however, please call PPO before 11:30 am.  If your student needs to leave school after 11:30 am and they have not turned in a note that morning, you will need to come to PPO and check them out personally; however, we will not be able to accommodate any check out after 6th period without a previously submitted note. During the weeks of EOC and AP testing PPO will NOT take any phone calls. If a student is driving or walking, a parent must be contacted.   If the student leaves without confirmation of the early dismissal, it will be treated as a class cut (truancy) and disciplinary action will be taken.  Contact Pupil Personnel @ 770 578-7908 ext. 051.

Congratulations to Adam Kenworthy!

Adam is a sophomore this year and is an amazing young man. He is always willing to help, he has a positive attitude, and is dedicated to his schoolwork. He's a shining example of what it means to be inclusive and supportive of his fellow classmates. We are proud to call you a Greyhound Adam!
