Parents and Students, As a part of the two year
construction project provided by SPLOST IV, Pope High School
is getting new floors throughout the building. In order to
ensure plenty of time in a shortened summer, the demolition
of the tile flooring had to begin during winter break, and
will also continue during spring break. This means that for
the rest of spring semester, the hallway floors will be bare
concrete…the construction crews have removed tile and
grinded off the glue in areas of the school, so safety and
cleanliness is not an issue for students upon their return.
There will be an aesthetic downgrade for the remainder of
the semester, but this was the best situation in order to
have all new flooring in for the start of the 2017-18 school
year. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we go
through this construction process together.

WILL TO LIVE
Pope WTL club will sponsor an
evening seminar featuring John Trautwein on
Monday, March 6th at 7pm
in the Hightower Trail Middle School theater. John founded
the Will To Live Foundation in memory of his
15-year old son, Will, who was a freshman at Northview HS
when he died in 2010. John’s message is a Mission of HOPE,
LOVE & THE WILL TO LIVE. The Will to Live Foundation is
dedicated to preventing teen suicide by improving the lives
and the ‘Will To Live’ of teenagers through education and
awareness of mental health and the silent killer
“depression”, and encourages teens to recognize the love and
hope that exist in each other.
The Will To Live Foundation's concept of "Life
Teammates" illustrates to teens that it is alright to share
fears and feelings, to reach out and help a friend in need,
and not be afraid to say “Love Ya Man”. The Will To
Live Foundation’s motto is “For the Kids, Through
the Kids, By the Kids,” and offers hope and a positive
message to combat the tragedy of teen suicide in America by
bringing people together to help one another in a time of
Please join us in providing John a warm welcome to our east
