Final Exam Schedule

Freshmen-Juniors:

Important Information:

Buses will run at regular time on Friday, May 17th.  Buses will run at 11:30 on Monday - Wednesday, May 20-22nd. All students must leave the building on May 20th -22nd at 11:30.  Students will not be permitted to check out of school during an exam period.  Friday, May 17th Regular school day with 1st period extended for the exam.  Monday, May 20th, Tuesday, May 21st and Wednesday, May 22nd Students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. after the last period exam.  If students have lunch period last, they may leave at 9:50 am.

Course Extension

Students are eligible to participate in Course Extension if they earn a final course grade of 65% to 69% during Spring Semester, 2018-2019, in either a core class (English, math, science, or social studies) or Spanish II. This program allows students to complete work and assessments over subject matter determined by their teacher in order to achieve a 70% in the class - if students complete that work successfully.  Please look at the contract/application, and be aware that the deadline for students to return contracts is May 24, 2019 by 3:00 PM in the Pope High School Counselling office with the online payment deadline as 3:00 PM on May 24th as well.


Vocabulary.com Award Winner

Congratulations to freshman Martin Giahi who won the award for winning the most Vocabulary.com points this school year.  Pope High school also had the most points in the state of Georgia, so this is a huge accomplishment.  We are proud of you Martin!

Alan C. Pope and Campbell High School Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapters have each been awarded a $5,000 State Farm grant after raising matching amounts for this year’s annual Cobb High School Coalition Habitat build.The grants were awarded at the home dedication of U.S. veteran Danny Burgess on in Mableton on May 11, 2019.  The Pope and Campbell chapters are a part of the Cobb High School Coalition, which comes together annually each spring semester to build a Habitat house over nine weeks. This year’s home began in February and was dedicated on May 11. The 2019 Coalition consisted of chapter students from Allatoona, Campbell, Hillgrove, Pope, Walton and Wheeler high schools.


Shallowford Falls Senior Walk

Shallowford Falls is having our Senior Walk/Reception on May 21st at 7:30am. All students who graduated from Shallowford Falls in 2012 and are graduating seniors from Pope this year are invited to come and reconnect with their SFE friends that morning and visit with their old teachers. Please wear your college t-shirt and walk the SFE halls in their final hall walk at 7:50am. All our students and staff will be lining the halls to honor your achievement. Teacher, Counselor, and Employee of the Year

Congratulations to our incredibly deserving Teacher of the Year, Dr. Krista Bowen, the Cobb County Counselor of the Year, Mrs. Patty DaSilva, and our Employee of the Year, Mrs. June Wilson!  We are so thankful for their dedication to Pope High School and all they do to make this a better place to teach and learn!

Excellence in Education Award

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources Environmental Protection Division’s Outreach Unit has awarded Mr. Bill Blythe with the state recognition of 2018 Excellence in Education Award.  Through this effort, Pope High School also received recognition at the annual Georgia Adopt-A-Stream (AAS) conference on March 23rd on behalf of Bill’s efforts.  Please see the full press release here.

Student of the Week

Congratulations to Amina Puela!

Amina is a senior this year and is a student that is vibrant and positive. She is a beacon of light in the hallways of Pope and beyond her incredible work ethic, she is also kind and compassionate.   Amina is a role model to other students and such a joy to work with! We are proud to call you a Greyhound, Amina, and we will miss you at Pope next year!
