Rising 7th Grade Student Vaccination Requirements

(Once your child has turned 11 years of age, he or she is ready to receive important vaccines required before entering 7th grade.)

All students born on or after January 1, 2002 who are entering 7th grade and new entrants to Georgia schools in grades 8-12 will need proof of a whooping cough booster shot and a meningococcal shot. New entrants include anyone that is entering Georgia schools for the first time or is returning to a Georgia school after being gone for more than 12 months or one school year.

G4C Student Challenge

The G4C Student Challenge is a game design competition that invites middle and high school students to create digital games about real-world issues impacting their communities. The program includes professional development for teachers, game making courses in public schools and after-school programs, student workshops and game jams, and mentorship by professional game designers.
Barber Middle School submitted 47 games and had ten finalists, the most from any school. Two out of three first place winners in the middle school division were from BMS.

Georgia Parent Survey

Each year, our school receives a School Climate Star Rating within CCRPI.  Our rating is based on students, staff, and parents completing climate surveys.  The Georgia Parent Survey contains 24 questions. Parents, you may complete the survey using your personal computer, smartphone, or tablet. If you do not have access to the Internet, you may come to the school to complete the Georgia Parent Survey. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. The Georgia Parent Survey link is posted below.  We need ALL parents to complete the survey.
