The Governor's Office of Student Achievement recognized Dickerson as a winner of the 2015 Platinum Award in the Highest Performing category for exhibiting high academic performance, meaning that our overall achievement over the last three years has been in the top 1% of schools in the state.

Students are celibrating STEM Day Friday!

Students in all grades will be participating in multiple STEAM/STEM activities requiring higher order thinking skills to create and design.  Many of the activities support the school STEAM focus question:  How can we help ease suffering in the world?

It is Dickerson’s 35th Anniversary.
Our first big event for students will be Friday, October 9th.  We will extend Fresh Air Friday.  Students are invited to wear college gear!  I will be proudly wearing my Volunteer
accessories.  The cafeteria will decorating and serving a tail gate menu –

Hamburgers/Cheeseburgers with toppings available, lettuce tomato ketchup, mustard, mayo.

Nachos, with chicken, cheese, with choice of jalapeno, lettuce, tomato, salsa.

Turkey cheese Subs with Chips and Fruit in a “Grab’n go” container.

School Choice (HB 251 & SB 10) Transfers

Today is the first day that parents/guardians may begin apply for School Choice transfers.  Capacity numbers have been posted (see Mr. York’s email from Friday) and the online application is active.  This year we will be accepting application online only.  Therefore we again have a kiosk set up in the lobby at 514 Glover Street for parents to access.

We are again asking that all schools post the following announcement of their website:

2015-16 School Choice

The Cobb County School District is again offering School Choice (HB 251

and SB10) transfers for the 2016-2017 school year. Individual school

capacity information and applications will be available beginning

February 1, 2016 on the District website. For more information, please
