Image result for NO CELL PHONE ZONE

Dear Parents:
Because we have seen an increase in cyber bullying nationwide, and we have seen a decrease in social interaction between students, we as a faculty and staff have decided that cell phones will not be allowed at Griffin this 2018-19 school year.

Please be prepared . Students will not be allowed to have their cell phones
out. Cell phones must be turned off at school.  If they need to contact you, they may visit the front office and use our school phone that is designated just for students. If you need to contact your child during the day, you too can call the front office, and we can call them out of class (678-842-6917).Thank you for your cooperation and support as we try to shape our students into outstanding citizens.

Learning Commons
Summer Reading Challenge

Image result for biblionasium

New this year! We will be using Biblionasium for our summer reading challenge in the learning commons (library). This challenge is not associated with the ELA required summer reading, however, students may use the minutes they read their ELA books towards the reading challenge. There will be a top reader selected for each grade level when we return for the 2018-19 school year. Top readers will be selected & based on the total number of minutes a student has read and recorded in Biblionasium over the summer break.
To access Biblionasium:
Click on this link www.biblionasium.com and click login with Destiny. If Griffin Middle School is not pre-populated, you will need to search for it by name. Students will then need to use their school computer login for access. Typically, the student login user name is their lunch number and the password is the one used to login to a school computer.

Click on challenges and begin logging your minutes!
Questions? Email lori.quintana@cobbk12.org

Administrators & teachers shall enforce the dress code rule, and the principal or designee shall be the final judge as to the appropriateness, neatness and cleanliness of the wearing apparel, or whether or not apparel is disruptive, unsafe, or in violation of the dress code.

Students not following school dress code will contact parents to bring them a change of clothes. If students are not able to contact their parents, they will be placed in In-School Suspension (ISS) for the entire school day. Thank you for your cooperation.
