Click here to see the EOG Boot Camp schedule for this year. Students may attend a variety of focused class offerings in the mornings from 8:00 a.m. - 8:50 a.m. to help them prepare to do their best work on the End of Grade tests beginning April 10th. We encourage all students to attend.

Palmer Students Celebrate Read Across America!

26 Palmer students visited Chalker Elementary to celebrate Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss's birthday! Students completed applications and practiced for three weeks in order to read in K-5th grade classrooms. We are looking forward to making this an annual tradition!  Thank you to Mrs. Jan Phillips and Chalker Elementary for welcoming us and helping us celebrate the love of reading.

Palmer Counseling Program Recognized Nationally

The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) is pleased to announce Palmer Middle School in Kennesaw, GA, as a Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP). Palmer Middle School Counselors have earned the Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation. The RAMP designation, awarded for aligning with the criteria in the ASCA National Model, recognizes schools that are committed to delivering a comprehensive, data-driven school counseling program and an exemplary educational environment. Palmer Middle School will be honored at a recognition ceremony at ASCA’s annual conference in Los Angeles, Calif. on Monday, July 16, 2018, for making an exemplary commitment to comprehensive school counseling programs.

We are going paperless!  Please see the attached parent letter to find out more about our move to online progress reports and report cards.  You will find directions for accessing your students' progress reports and report cards via ParentVue. Alternately, if you do not have access to the internet, you may contact your child's counselor to receive a paper copy by request. Thank you for supporting us in our efforts to reduce our paper waste.

Palmer Earns Bronze Award from Governor's Office of Student Achievement

Palmer was honored with a 2017 Bronze Award from the Governor's Office of Student Achievement in the Greatest Gains category for exhibiting high growth in student achievement. Palmer's academic growth over the last three years has been in the top 7% of schools in the state. Our school received an award certificate and a banner that will hang in front of the school.

Georgia Parent Survey

We encourage and appreciate our families’ participation in the Georgia Parent Survey as this data is used as part of our calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. The Georgia Parent Survey is also available in Spanish. Parents may select the Spanish version within the survey. The Georgia Parent Survey link is posted below. If you do not have access to a computer, we welcome you to come in to the Palmer Learning Commons to take the survey.

Congratulations to our 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year
Ms. Sue Bulock, Band Director!

Ms. Bulock has been a teacher at Palmer Middle School for 12 years. She is described by her peers as someone who is always available to her students. As her nominating teacher stated, "Ms. Bulock makes all of her students feel special and appreciated. She is amazing." Ms. Bulock's sister and family traveled from Michigan to surprise her at the announcement breakfast!

Congratulations to our 2017-2018 Cobb Employee of the Year
Ms. Angela Holtzclaw, Food Services Manager!

Mrs. Holtzclaw is described as a "cheerful" person who knows everyone's name, and who works hard making delicious, nutritional food with excellent service. She also goes above and beyond for students.  As her nominating teacher stated, "She enthusiastically helped me with a PBL project to teach my students about running a kitchen. She gave them a tour, created interest, and answered many questions."
