Ford Elementary Students Demonstrate Generosity and Patriotism through Georgia Schools Care Initiative

Students at Ford Elementary proudly participated in the Georgia Schools Care initiative, a statewide effort led by the Georgia Department of Education.  Embracing the spirit of gratitude, our students raised over $1,500 in just two days to support Operation Gratitude, an organization that delivers gratitude packages and heartfelt messages to members of the military and first responders.

This remarkable effort united students across all grade levels, many of whom generously donated from their own piggy banks. Their selfless contributions reflect the values of empathy, gratitude, and community that we strive to instill at Ford. Through their actions, our students sent a powerful message of appreciation to the brave individuals who serve and protect our nation. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and the difference they are making in the lives of others.

 Operation Gratitude provides opportunities for the American people to express their gratitude and show our Military and first responders that what they do matters. Since 2003, with the help of our nationwide network of Volunteers, we have sent a total of 4 million Care Packages containing carefully chosen items meant to boost the morale and resilience of our service members and give them warm reminders of home.
