Message from the Principal

Mableton Family,
Welcome to another exciting year at Mableton Elementary School! As I begin my second year as principal, I am incredibly proud to reflect on what an amazing first year we shared together. From the moment I arrived, I knew there was something special about Mableton, but this past year showed me just how extraordinary our students, staff, families, and community truly are. I am honored to continue serving as the principal of a school that I believe is not only good enough for your child, but one I would proudly choose for my own.
With more than 30 years in education, including 20 years in Cobb County, I have spent my career working to create schools where every child is seen, supported, challenged, and believed in. My journey began as a school aide in New York, and every step since has been driven by one guiding belief: If a classroom isn’t good enough for my own son, it’s not good enough for anyone’s child.
Family is incredibly important to me. My wife, Michelle, also works in education at Kennesaw Mountain High School, and our son, Joey, will graduate from the University of Georgia in December. Watching Joey reach this exciting milestone reminds me of something our Mableton families already know. Our children grow up quickly! The years we are given to educate, encourage, and influence them are precious, and we have a responsibility to make every one of those years count.
That is why our commitment at Mableton is simple: Be a Champion for Kids.
Being a Champion for Kids is more than a slogan. It is the way we approach our work every day. It means putting students first, believing in their potential, advocating for what they need, celebrating their successes, and never giving up on them. Every decision I make as principal continues to be guided by one question: Is this what’s best for kids?
But being a Champion for Kids isn't something our school can do alone. Our families are our most important partners. When educators and families work together, communicate openly, and support one another, our children benefit. I want every Mableton family to know that you have a voice in our school, you are welcome here, and you are an essential part of your child's success.
One of the best ways to stay connected is by checking out The Weekly Roar Family Edition each week. The Weekly Roar is your one stop source for important dates, upcoming events, school news, celebrations, reminders, and everything happening around Mableton. I encourage every family to make it part of your weekly routine so you can stay informed and connected to our school community.
As we begin Year 2 together, I am excited about where we are headed. Our first year together was filled with accomplishments, growth, new traditions, challenges we faced together, and countless moments that reminded me why Mableton Elementary is such a special place. Now, we have the opportunity to build on that foundation and make this year even stronger.
Warmly,
Mike Cappucci, Ed.S.
Principal, Mableton Elementary
