September 4, 2026 — The Cobb County School District once again earned national recognition as one of Georgia’s best places to work, according to Forbes. This marks the eighth year in a row that Cobb Schools secured a spot in Forbes top 100 list of best employers in the state. 

Cobb Schools ranked No. 29 among Georgia’s best places to work, placing higher than national brands such as Coca-Cola, American Express, and Home Depot, as well as every university in the state. 

Since Forbes began publishing the list in 2019, Cobb Schools is the only school district in Georgia to appear on the prestigious list every year. While Cobb remains among the best each year, the recognition also demonstrates consistent, sustained success and an environment where teachers and staff want to work.

The Forbes ranking is driven largely by employee feedback, including whether employees would recommend their workplace and how they rate areas such as pay and benefits, leadership, flexibility, reputation, and opportunities for advancement. In other words, Cobb’s continued place on the list reflects what employees themselves are saying about working here.

That employee feedback helps explain Cobb’s 99% teacher retention rate, with educators choosing to return to Cobb classrooms year after year. This is due in part to Cobb’s partnership with the University of West Georgia and the creation of Georgia's BEST, which gives Cobb educators and staff the opportunity to earn advanced degrees at no cost. 

This recognition comes just after U.S. News & World Report ranked several Cobb high schools among the best in the state and nation.
