More than 1,000 educators from across the Cobb County School District gathered at Osborne High School to officially kick off the 2026-2027 school year. The event brought together faculty and staff from Osborne High School, Floyd Middle School, Fair Oaks Elementary School, LaBelle Elementary School, Hollydale Elementary School, Milford Elementary School, Russell Elementary School, Birney Elementary School, and Smitha Middle School for a morning filled with music, dancing, friendly competitions, and a celebration of the work taking place throughout the Osborne Cluster.

The morning also recognized an outstanding accomplishment beyond the classroom. During the 2025-2026 school year, the Osborne Cluster raised more than $25,000 for the American Heart Association through its annual Cardinal Frenzy events. One of the highlights of the celebration was the presentation of the Cardinal Frenzy Fiesta Cup, awarded to the school that raised the most funds. Congratulations to Smitha Middle School and Principal Chris Salter, whose school earned this year's championship.

Just before the districtwide kickoff broadcast began, attendees watched the Osborne Senior Spotlight video. The feature served as a powerful reminder that a student's senior year is the result of years of encouragement, guidance, and inspiration from educators across every grade level. From a student's first days in elementary school to the final moments of senior year, every teacher, counselor, administrator, and support staff member plays a role in shaping that journey.

Reflecting on the day, Principal Dr. Jones shared, "The Osborne Cluster is doing great things for students every single day. Having the opportunity to bring all of our schools together in one place was a great way to celebrate that work and demonstrate our shared commitment to the students and families we serve." The kickoff was more than just the start of a new school year—it was a celebration of a community of educators united by a common purpose and ready to make a difference.
