Struggling Students

Sometimes we all just need a little help. Even the best academic students may find themselves struggling at some point. Whether you are experiencing this for the first time with your child or you find your child struggling daily, we are here to help. Listed below are resources and suggestions available to assist students and parents:

  • Monitor ParentVUE frequently. ParentVUE is an online resource that allows parents and students to stay abreast of attendance, assignments, and grades.  If you do not have a ParentVUE login, please bring a valid picture I.D. to the school to receive your login information.
  • Talk to your student every night about what he or she did at school that day and check your student’s agenda.
  • Ask your child to see completed homework at the end of each evening.  It is a good practice to not accept “I turned it in” as a reason for your child not presenting a completed assignment to you at home.
  • Promote regular attendance and encourage the make-up of any missed assignments.
  • Our counselors are available to assist you with your child’s study skills and academic progress. Click here for more information.
  • Teacher blogs are available through CTLS Learn to check for assignments and updates daily. Encourage your student to visit with his/her teacher directly to get support. Click here for email information.
  • USA Test Prep is an online resource that may be used at home or at school to provide additional assistance to students.  Click here for more information about USA Testprep as well as other academic resources.
  • Before and/or after school tutoring as available by contacting your child’s teachers through email. Click here for a list of help sessions. Click here for information about free tutoring.
