Eastvalley Families!

For the second consecutive year, Eastvalley is being recognized and awarded by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement in the Greatest Gains category for exhibiting high growth in student achievement under Georgia's statewide accountability system.  This means that our academic growth over the last three years has been in the top 7% of schools in the state.  More importantly, this represents the passion and professionalism of our staff, the support and investment from our families, and the hard word and strong character of our students that I have the privilege of witnessing every single day!  Congratulations to you all for making Eastvalley the best place to teach, lead, and learn!

The Eastvalley Holiday Giving Tree is back.
This is the time of year where we give “Thanks”
for all that we have, but there are some
families that are in need.
We really appreciate your help during this time
of year.  Just think how you will be able to make a child smile because they have something to unwrap that is their very own!
Please consider taking a "star" from our tree!

Everyday Heroes:  The Power of One!
As we celebrate our military heroes this Veterans' Day,
Eastvalley Elementary school will kick off the annual
Honoring Our Heroes Essay Program!  The theme of this year's essay contest is "Everyday Heroes:  The Power of One".  This program provides you, the students, an opportunity to identify and write an essay honoring your real life hero, your role model, or anyone who has made an impact on your life.  This hero can be anyone; a family member, a doctor, a public safety officer, a soldier, a teacher, a neighnor, a friend, or even your pet!  More details will be sent home with you next week.  You can also browse the PTA website for further information.

Winners will be recongized with exciting awards and the first place winners from each grade level will be recognized at the East Cobb Council which has 35 schools participating from our area.
We can't wait to read about your real life heros!

Come & Sharpen Your Saw
in the Morning with Coach Albert!

Sunrise Sharpen the Saw is back! Sunrise Sharpen the Saw is an exercise program that helps students gear up for the academic day. The morning program will be Monday - Friday from 7:20 to 7:50. All classes are scheduled for a certain day of the week; however, I will only take the first 40 students by 7:25. Please encourage your child to participate!

Students perform better academically when they are physically fit.  Student’s brains are kind of like the internet - made up of circuits that handle all information. When you work cardio before class, you turn up the speed of the internet between your ears - your brain :-).
