Dual Language English/Spanish Immersion Program

Hollydale Elementary School is proud to implement a strand program of Dual Language English/Spanish Immersion with a class of Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third Grade for the 2019-2020 school year. This unique model provides instruction and support for students in learning both languages. Students split their day between instruction in Spanish and English. Our plan is to grow this program each year through 5th Grade. Our hope is to instill cultural competence and enhance communication among our students and community. The Dual Language English/Spanish Immersion program will help students to become bi-lingual and bi-literate in an ever changing world.
The electronic translation service is hosted by Google Translate. The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 50 languages, although an impressive number, this does not capture all languages or dialects. The basic translation’s goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material.
