End of the Year Early Release Dates

All CCSD students will be released early on May 24th & 25th, 2016, at the following times:

  • 11:30 a.m. - High School Release
  • 12:30 p.m. - Elementary School Release
  • 1:30 p.m. - Middle School Release

Information about ParentVUE

ParentVue will be temporarily unavailable on May 24th and 25th to allow time for teachers to grade exams and finalize their grades.

ParentVue will be restored on May 26th.



Seniors, Baccalaureate is Sunday May 22nd at 3pm at Burnt Hickory Baptist Church. This is a special service to honor and celebrate all graduating seniors. There will be musical performances, JROTC will be presenting the colors and a special guest speaker that you do not want to miss!

Seniors need to arrive no later than 2:45 dressed in their caps and gowns ready for the procession to begin sharply at 3pm.  Please let your family and friends know that they are invited to attend to celebrate your accomplishment!

KMHS School Council 2016-17

Parents, nominations for the Kennesaw Mountain High School 2016-17 School Council will be accepted beginning May 16 through June 1, 2016. Please send your nominee to mark.trachtenbroit@cobbk12.org. Voting for the School Council will take place at the KMHS front office Monday, June 20 through Thursday, June 23 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The School Council will be announced on Monday, July 11, 2016.


Counseling Office Change in Hours

The Counseling Office will be closed the following days to prepare for graduation:

  • Friday, May 20
  • Monday, May 23
  • Tuesday, May 24


Clinic News

All medications must be picked up from the clinic before 11:30 on May 25th. No medications can remain in the clinic over the summer. Any medications remaining after this time will have to be destroyed per CCSD policy.

Students may come by clinic and carry home their own OTC medications. Students may also carry home their own Epipen or autoinjector as well as inhaler. Students may not carry home prescription medications (other than the above). Parents will need to come by and pick up prescription medications from the clinic.

There are NO post-planning days for the clinic! Again, meds must be picked up BEFORE 11:30 on the last day of school, Wednesday, 5/25!


Summertime Certificates of School Enrollment

Certificates of School Enrollment are required to obtain both a Georgia Learner's Permit and a Georgia Driver's License for students under the age of 18. SUMMERTIME CERTIFICATES ARE VALID FROM MAY 23 – AUGUST 15, 2016.

Apply in the Attendance Office every Tuesday from 7:45-8:20 am, UNTIL MAY 10. There is a $2.00 processing fee, bring exact change. These Certificates will be ready for pick-up on Monday, May 23.


Changes in Athletic Registration

Kennesaw Mountain High School, in conjunction with the Cobb County School District, have developed a new online Athletic Registration for participation in athletics at Kennesaw Mountain High School.

Parents will use the Athletic Registration to submit the required consent, insurance, and medical information for your student’s athletic registration. Students must be in grades eight through twelve to register for athletics.

Certificate of School Enrollment Information

Students can log in now using their existing student ID# and password. Students will not need new accounts.

Work Permit

Students can go online to complete the work permit paperwork. Bring the GA DOL printout in person to the main office or the attendance office. The work permit will be completed in 24 hours from the time it is turned in.  

Effective July 1, 2015, with the exception of minors in entertainment, work permits are no longer required for youth age 16 and older.
