STAR Student

The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR)program honors Georgia's highest achieving high school seniors and the teachers who have been most instrumental in their academic development.

To obtain the STAR nomination, high school seniors must have the highest score on any single test date of the three-part SAT taken through the November test date of their senior year and be in the top 10 percent or top 10 students of their class based on grade point average. This year’s STAR student is Mitchell Johns, who scored 2380 on the SAT and is headed to Harvard College next year. Mitchell selected Kelly Ingle as his STAR teacher for all the help she gave him in the Advanced Research and Internship classes. Congratulations to Mitchell and Ms. Ingle on this great honor!

Students can come to the counseling front desk to sign up for the ASVAB either before school, during their lunch, or after school. The test is free.

It will be given on Wed., Feb 4 at 8:30 AM in the Cafeteria.

The ASVAB is used to determine qualification for enlisting in the United States Armed Forces and it is also a career/skills test for all students wanting to take it who are at least 16 years of age.
