Simpson Foundation plans to fund new Think Tanks and Learning Commons as well as other school-wide STEAM programs this year with your donations.  Invest in your child's education today - donate online or fill out the donation form and drop it off at the front office.  Please participate in our magazine fundraiser. STEAM Education
Did you know that we have plans to become a STEAM certified school?  Learn more about our STEAM efforts and help us by filling out a career form HERE.  Also, please plan on attending a STEAM Community Initiative meeting on August 15, 2017 at 5:00 pm.

On August 21, 2017, Cobb County will have a unique opportunity to experience a near total eclipse of the sun. The maximum eclipse in this event will take place at 2:36 PM for our area of North Georgia. The Cobb County School District will delay dismissal 45 minutes during this event to allow students to participate in eclipse-related learning experiences and provide students with a safe learning environment. 

If you would like your child to participate in the outdoor eclipse viewing at Simpson, please complete the permission form.  Parent permission slips and solar eclipse viewing glasses are required.  All students are requested to donate $1.00 to the cost of the solar eclipse glasses. Students may not bring solar eclipse viewing glasses from home. 

EOG dates are incorrect on PTSA calendar.
The correct dates are April 11-20.

Due to a change in the national testing schedule for the PSAT, the 2017-18 early release schedule previously communicated has been revised.

August 30 – Local Staff Development
October 12 – Local Staff Development (originally scheduled for October 11)
October 16-20 – Elementary and Middle School Conference Week 
December 19 – Local Staff Development 
December 20 – End of Semester Early Release 
March 14 – Local Staff Development 
May 22 & 23 – End of Semester/Year Early Release

The release times will be 1:30 for Middle Schools.

Each of us has a responsibility to prevent bullying behavior.  If you are aware of a bullying situation please report it to an adult in the building.  If you would rather, you can complete the Bullying Incident Report form and return it to school. The form is available in the academic wings as well.  You can make a difference by reporting bullying. General Mills created the Box Tops program in 1996 to help support education and benefit America's schools. Today America's schools have earned over $719 million and you can find Box Tops on hundreds of products throughout the grocery store.  The money we earn from Box Tops is used to purchase educational items for our school.  Please be sure to clip Box Tops on items you purchase and send them or bring them in to Simpson Middle School.  Thank you for your support.
