Welcome to the Big Shanty Library Learning Commons!

We strive to provide a welcoming atmosphere and inspire students to think in new ways!

We became Learning Commons Certified in May of 2022.  What does that mean?  We have flexible spaces, soft seating, spots to collaborate, spots to be by yourself, and a Makerspace!

What is a Makerspace?  This is a part of our Learning Commons that houses a 3D printer, Glowforge, Cricut, Shiloutte, and many different types of robots.  This is a place to be creative and explore!

Of course we also provide a large collection of books and magazines for checkout.  Our books are organized by genre and our nonfiction is a organized by a general Dewey Decimal system.  

New for the 2022 school year, we have been totally remodeled!  New furniture, paint, and carpet!  It looks beautiful and we hope you come to see it!
