Dickerson is an Advanced Placement Certified School.
We currently offer Advanced Content Courses in Reading, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies. In addition, 8th graders can take a foreign language. Screening for advanced content classes is completed automatically prior to the start of each school year. Students new to Dickerson from outside of Georgia are screened as they enter the school. Placement in the advanced content classes is based on nationally normed standardized tests such as the Iowa Test. Students in the advanced content classes must maintain an 80 or above average in each advanced content class to remain in the program.
