Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year!
Welcome to another exciting school year at Milford Elementary!
I am honored to be the Principal of Milford Elementary and continue serving this incredible school community. Over the past two years, I have had the privilege of working alongside our exceptional staff, outstanding students, and supportive families. I am excited for all that we will accomplish together this year.
I bring over seventeen years of educational experience, including six years in Houston, Texas, where I served as a classroom teacher and Accountability Specialist before transitioning to the Cobb County School District. In Cobb, I have served as a School Leadership Intern at Hollydale Elementary and as Assistant Principal at both King Springs Elementary and Green Acres Elementary before becoming Principal of Milford Elementary. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Houston, a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix, a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Kennesaw State University, and a Doctorate in Educational Administration and Leadership from Walden University.
This year, we are embracing our theme, "Milford – The Most Magical School on Earth." While our theme brings excitement and joy to our school, our focus remains firmly on providing exceptional learning experiences for every student. Guided by our commitment to Engage, Empower, and Excel, we strive to create classrooms where students are challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their highest potential every day.
At Milford, we believe every child deserves a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where they feel valued and encouraged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We are committed to building strong relationships, celebrating student success, and ensuring that all learners have the opportunities and support they need to thrive.
A strong partnership between school and home is essential to student success. Your involvement, encouragement, and collaboration make a tremendous difference, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside our Milford families throughout the year.
Together, we will make this school year one filled with meaningful learning, memorable experiences, and magical moments for every child.
Thank you for being a part of our Milford family.
Let's make it a magical year!
Let's Go, Mariners!

Dr. Tiffany Jones, Principal

It is an honor to serve you as an assistant principal of Milford Elementary School in the 2026-2027 school year. I look forward to meeting all of you and working with the community. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a legacy of success and so many caring stakeholders.
I grew up in the Metropolitan Washington D.C. area, went to college in North Carolina, and then settled in the Atlanta area. I live in Marietta with my husband, three children, and two fur babies. We love to support small businesses and visit the community often. Be sure to look out for us in the area.
I started my career as an elementary classroom teacher then moved on to an elementary academic coach for five years. I have dedicated my career to the students of south Cobb County for the last 21 years. There is a special place in my heart for this area!
I look forward to our work together in the years to come and collaborating with a team committed to the Milford community. I have an open-door policy and value every stakeholder’s opinion. Feel free to contact me to discuss any concerns or ideas you may have to make our community better. Please stay safe and let’s have a great school year.
Sincerely,
Dawn Allison-Ruiz
