Mountain Lion families, we cannot WAIT to welcome you back (and welcome our brand-new families!) for Meet & Greet on Thursday, July 30, 2026. 🎉 This is one of our favorite days of the year — a chance to meet your teacher, drop off supplies, and feel the Mountain View magic before day one. Here’s how the day will flow so everyone arrives confident and excited.

Meet and Greet Times

Ride the Bus & Be the First Mountain Lions There!

Kindergarten and First Grade families — we would LOVE for you to ride the bus! 💛 It’s the perfect way to ease first-day nerves, let your child practice the route, and meet our amazing Mountain View bus drivers before school even begins. Plus, our ride-along students get to be the very first Mountain Lions at Meet & Greet! 🦁

Bus route information, including bus stops and pick-up times, will be live on the Cobb County School District website closer to Meet and Greet.  Additional information will be sent when they are live. Be sure to check it so you’re ready to roll! 🗓️

🚌 Kindergarten and First Grade Families Doing the Bus Ride-Along

If your child is participating in the bus ride-along, here’s your plan:

Your bus will pick you and your child up at your assigned stop at the normal scheduled time (for example, 6:58 AM) and bring you all right to Mountain View.

Students and Parents will get off the bus and come inside the building for Meet & Greet — meeting their teacher and exploring their new school.

Around 8:00 AM, we’ll make an announcement for ride-along students to re-board the bus, and they’ll be driven back home to their stop. The buses wait the whole time, so there’s nothing to worry about! 💛

Schedule of Events

Each grade level has an assigned time for Meet and Greet.  The next group will be Kindergarten and First Grade Families not participating in the Ride-Along.  This group may begin entering the parking lot at 8:00 AM, and we will not be able to open the doors for this group until 8:15 AM.  Please ensure that you come just before your assigned time to allow the parking lot to clear from the previous group.

Teacher will only be available to greet students and parents at the designated time.

Families with students in our Bridge or Core Programs are welcome to attend during your child's scheduled grade level time.  Our teachers will be available through the grade levels of each program to meet you.

Parking & Arrival

Parking is very limited during this event, so we highly encourage carpooling whenever possible! An officer will be on-site to help ensure every car is parked in a designated spot. Thank you in advance for your patience and teamwork — it makes a big difference. 🤝

 School Supplies

If you pre-ordered a school supply box, it will be available for pickup at Meet & Greet!  📦 Our supply lists can be found on the Mountain View website, and if you purchased your own supplies, please bring them to Mountain View during Meet and Greet.

After School Clubs

After school club registration opens July 6 at 8:00 PM.  We have a news post on our school website that will help guide you through this process.  Don't delay!  These clubs fill up very quickly.  Only clubs with open spots will be represented at Meet and Greet, so we highly recommend registering as soon as possible.

A Quick Note on Timing

Please know this is a brief, informal event — there is no formal meeting. It’s a warm, quick hello so your child can meet their teacher and drop off supplies. Keeping it short helps us give this wonderful welcome to all 850 of our students! 🐾

We are beyond excited to see your smiling faces and kick off an amazing 2026–27 school year together. Welcome (and welcome back!) to school!
