Back to School

We are excited to welcome all of our Mountain Lions back to school, and this checklist is to help you feel ready for Day One.  From our classrooms to our cafeteria, buses to our front office, every member of the Mountain View Team is ready to support your student with a safe and welcoming start to the 2026-2027 school year.

STEP 1: Transportation Selection: Action Needed

Each day, our Mountain View team safely dismisses more than 850 students to our buses, car line, afterschool program, and clubs.  Safety is our top priority, and we use one system to dismiss students - GoSafe.

  • Log into ParentVue to select your child's default transportation.  This tells our team how your child will typically go home every day.  (Directions can be found in the Resources at the bottom of this post.
  • Need to change transportation?  You will create a temporary dismissal change in the same place in ParentVue.
  • Please select your child's default transportation by 12:00 PM on July 29th, so that our team can print a copy for your verification at Meet and Greet.

STEP 2: Download the bus app and register your child, then find your bus route.

  • Students that will ride the bus at any time must be registered in the EduLog app.  There are two flyers to assist with this process can be found in the Resources at the bottom of this post.  Please register your child prior to Meet and Greet.
  • Bus Routes are now LIVE!  Here are a few tips:
    • After you enter your address, choose "DFLT" for Program.
    • Once you see Mountain View Elementary, select, "Details".
    • Then click the turquoise bar that says, "Show Stops Near Me".  This step will reveal your morning and afternoon times.

STEP 3:  What's for Lunch?

  • Cobb's Food & Nutrition team serves over 75,000 healthy meals daily using fresh, local ingredients and menus kids enjoy. New items based on student feedback make it easier than ever to choose nutritious options.
  • Use MySchoolBucks to make sure your child has money in their lunch account for the first day.

STEP 4:  Become familiar with Arrival and Dismissal Procedures.

  • Carefully review our arrival and dismissal procedures.
  • You may walk your child into school for the first day of school only.  Please note that you will not be able to park in the bus port until after all buses have finished the arrival process (likely not until 7:40 AM).  Our parking is extremely limited, so we encourage students to ride the bus or arrive in our car line.  Our school will be staffed to assist your child in getting to class.
  • Beginning Tuesday, 8/5/26, all students will need to ride the bus or remain in the car line.  Parents are not permitted to park and walk your child in after the first day of school.
  • Our school resource officer will be assisting with these procedures for the first week of school.
  • If your child will be a car rider at dismissal, please reuse your car tag if you are a returning parent.  If you are a new family, please pick up your car tag by showing your photo ID at the Meet and Greet car tag station.

STEP 5: Register for ASP

  • If you anticipate that your child will ever need to stay in our after school program, they must be registered prior to their first day.  This account is separate from GoSafe, so please make sure to create an account and complete the registration process.
  • All students registered for an after school club must also be registered for ASP.

We look forward to seeing everyone soon!
