Summer Reading Challenge
Dear Families,
Did you know that Cobb County Schools and the Public Library team up to create a summer reading challenge for students in grades K-12? The public library and Cobb County Schools come together to create challenges and prizes to celebrate the reading the students do over the summer holidays. As with our school, the public library utilizes Beanstack to track reading minutes and provide challenges. This year, the theme of the summer reading challenge is UNEARTHED: A Story. The challenge runs from June 1st until July 31st. In the past, Mountain View students have been very active with participation in the challenge. We would LOVE to keep that enthusiasm going this summer.
Participating in the Summer Reading Challenge will count towards the 2026-2027 Schoolwide Reading Challenge. At the start of next school year, all participants in the Summer Reading Challenge will be recognized and celebrated! All summer reading minutes will count toward the schoolwide/grade level goals for the 2026-2027 school year’s reading challenge.
