What does it take to become a state champion? For Osborne High School’s JROTC Raider Team, the answer includes discipline, teamwork, early mornings, demanding practices, and a commitment to pushing beyond what they thought they could accomplish.
In Part 1 of this special two-part episode of the Cardinal Fly-By Podcast, hosts Dr. Ben Needle and Heidi Leonard sit down with members of Osborne’s State Champion Raider Team to hear the story behind their success.

The conversation goes beyond trophies and competition results. The Raiders share how they became involved with the program, what Raider competitions actually involve, and just how physically and mentally demanding the sport can be. From running and strength events to obstacles that require the entire team to work together, Raider competitions test much more than individual athletic ability.
For these Cardinals, success has been built through preparation and trust. The team discusses the hours of training that happen long before competition day and the importance of knowing that every teammate will do their part when the pressure is on.

Their journey ultimately led them to the biggest stage in Georgia, where the Cardinals captured a state championship and added another chapter to Osborne’s growing tradition of excellence.
