The Osborne High School volleyball program has officially reached a new milestone, establishing a new school record for wins in a single season following victories over Riverdale and Lovejoy.

While the record itself is worth celebrating, the bigger story is the continued growth of the program under Head Coach Lee Spoor. Since taking over the Cardinals, Spoor has helped build a culture of competitiveness, commitment, and steady improvement. Osborne recorded two wins in 2024 before increasing that total to seven in 2025. This season, the Cardinals have already surpassed the previous school record — with plenty of volleyball still left to play.

The progress becomes even more impressive when viewed in historical context. In the 17 seasons prior to Spoor’s arrival, Osborne volleyball recorded 14 total victories. In less than three seasons under his leadership, the Cardinals have already earned 18 wins and continue to add to that total.

More than a number in the win column, the new school record represents the work being done to build a stronger program and create a new standard for Osborne Volleyball. With continued growth on the court and momentum surrounding the program, the Cardinals are showing just how quickly expectations can change.

A school record has been set — and this program is still moving forward.
