Dr. Allison Gurski, Principal

allison-gurski-pitner-principal.6e7114123284.jpgIt is with great honor and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the principal of Pitner Elementary.  I am excited to be a part of this school community where the school’s core values and the foundation of community and learning provide exciting opportunities for the future.

I have had the privilege to teach, lead, and learn in the Cobb County School District. As a Cobb County native, I attended Cobb schools as a student and have 24 years in education, all in Cobb. Being able to give back to the district and community that invested so much in me growing up has been so rewarding.

Personally, my husband and I have three children ages 11, 14, and 18. All three boys keep us busy with their active sports schedule! Most evenings and weekends you can find us at the baseball fields, tennis courts, or hiking around with our two dogs. We love to be outside as much as possible, and when we have time to travel, Durango, CO is our favorite place to ski, snowboard, hike, and raft!

I look forward to working with the students, staff, and Pitner community on our goals and aspirations in the new year. Through a strong partnership between home and school, we will continue to enhance your child’s educational experiences.

Thank you for welcoming me, and I am thrilled to join your Pinter family.

Mrs. Kim Chendemi, Assistant Principal

Kim%20Website-1.jpegHello! My name is Kim Chendemi and I am so excited to be able to come back to where my teaching career began and now serve as one of the Assistant Principals. Pitner is truly a special place because of the students, staff members, parents, and administrators, and I am honored to be apart of this community once again!

I am a product of Cobb County Schools, attending Keheley, McCleskey and Kell High School. I began my teaching career in the Cobb County School District twelve years ago. I received my undergraduate degree from Kennesaw State University, Masters Degree and Specialist Degree from Walden University, and lastly a degree in Educational Leadership from the University of West Georgia.

As an educational leader, I am driven by the belief that every student has the potential to achieve greatness. By setting high standards, children can be pushed to their boundaries and strive for excellence. The best way to achieve these high standards is by working together, and collaboration being a top priority for the school’s success. I believe that the best learning happens when students, teachers, and the community work together towards common goals. I also believe that building trust and relationships with students helps create a nurturing, engaging and inclusive environment for all. This is important to help foster academic excellence in a safe and secure environment.

I look forward to working with your family this year and being apart of their educational journey! Please feel free to reach out anytime! Kimberly.Chendemi@cobbk12.org
