Melissa with kids

Welcome to Our New Part-time Clerk!

We are excited to welcome Melissa Martinez-Torres as our new part-time clerk! Melissa will join us starting Monday, 11/3.

Hi! I’m Melissa, the new clerk here at Vaughan Elementary. I also work in ASP at Kemp Elementary and have spent the past two years as a substitute teacher with Cobb County Schools. My husband and I have three kids, and we’re so grateful to be part of such a caring and supportive community. I’m excited to get to know our students, families, and staff, and to help make every day at Vaughan a great one!

Thank you for supporting PTSA

PTSA was able to purchase this year for Vaughan 2 laminators; 2 classroom rugs and Generation Genuis computer program for the entire school. These things were purchased through the many ways you support PTSA! Thank you for attending events like Monster Mash and donating to Rocket Blast to name a few!

πŸ¦… SOAR Focus of the Month: Respectful

This month, we’re focusing on how to be Respectful — showing care for people, places, and things by listening when others speak, following directions, and taking care of property and personal space.
Students are learning how to be respectful through class meetings, PBIS books in the media center, and daily “Tips of the Day" by our morning news anchors. Families can support this focus at home by talking about what being respectful looks like, reading stories with a theme of respect, and noticing respectful choices. Together, we can help every student SOAR!

Thanks For Giving Food List

🌾 Thanks for Giving Food Drive 🌾EXTENDED until November 10

Our annual Thanks for Giving Food Drive is underway! We’re collecting nonperishable food items to help families in need this season. Students and families can drop off donations at school now through November 10th. Let’s work together to show gratitude and make a difference in our community. Every item counts—thank you for giving!

Setting the Stage with Song: Voices of Vaughan Perform at KSU

The Voices of Vaughan delivered a stirring rendition of the National Anthem at the Kennesaw State University women’s soccer match against Middle Tennessee State University on Saturday, October 25th. Their powerful performance set a spirited tone for the evening at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. Despite the Owls’ determined effort, KSU fell short in a hard-fought 1-0 loss to MTSU. The anthem performance was a highlight of the night, showcasing the talent and pride of the Vaughan community.
