AHS Graduation Packet 2017

Allatoona students have the opportunity to participate in the 2nd annual day of community service on April 22nd, 2017, from 8:00am-12:00pm.  Students who wish to participate must have a permission slip signed by a parent and turned in to the main office by April 11th.  Students should wear close toed shoes and older clothing as they could get dirty during this day. For participating in Give Back/Get Back, students will receive the following:

  • Five hours of community service with the option of a sixth hour for bringing in four cans of food for the food pantry AND participating in the day.
  • A certificate
  • A t-shirt
  • Breakfast
  • And a huge sense of pride for helping out the community that gives so much to Allatoona all year long!

Parents are welcome to chaperone, but we need to know which parents will be attending with their kids so we can plan accordingly and order enough t-shirts for all participants.  If parents would like to volunteer to chaperone, please email Stephanie Rainey at Stephanie.Rainey@cobbk12.org.  Venues for the day include senior citizen homes, downtown Acworth, Horizon Field, Swift Cantrell Park, road clean-up in Marietta, lunch bag packing for homeless, landscaping, gardening, and letter writing to soldiers.

If you cannot make it for our day of service, you can still help with one of the following donation items to be dropped off at the Office of School Counseling or Mrs. Rainey’s office:

  • Cases of water
  • Individually wrapped candy
  • Grocery store giftcards (Kroger, Publix, Walmart)
  • Any monetary donation (We have a form for tax purposes and any business that donates $100.00 or more will be listed as a proud sponsor on the back of the t-shirts.)

If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie Rainey at Stephanie.Rainey@cobbk12.org.

Principal's Corner

It is hard to believe we are through spring break and moving toward the end of another school year.  As we make our way through the last 6 weeks, I would like to encourage each parent to keep their son or daughter focused on being the best student they can be, each and every day!

I know that our teachers are committed to providing students every opportunity to be successful in the classroom over these last six weeks, and to afford opportunities for enrichment and preparation for the end of the semester assessments. Our expectations, both in and out of the classroom, will remain high for each and every student at Allatoona High School!

For our seniors, the next few weeks will be the beginning of the end of their high school career.  I would like to encourage each senior parent to take an active role and make sure that all of our seniors work hard, make good decisions, and finish strong.

For our underclassmen, we have begun the process of building our master schedule for 2017-18 based on the student class selection and registration process.  Students will have the opportunity to review those selections in the coming weeks.

Please see our website for additional information and feel free to contact the school if you have specific questions or concerns……GO BUCS!
