Welcome to Allatoona H.S.!

9th Grade:  All 9th grade students will be taking the PSAT if they signed up for the test or taking a diagnostic English and math test along with rotating through counseling sessions that will give our freshmen tips about how to be successful in high school.

10th Grade:  All 10th grade students will be taking the PSAT.

11th Grade:  All 11th grade students will be taking the PSAT if they signed up for it or the ASVAB if they did not sign up for the PSAT.

12th Grade:  All 12th grade students will enjoy the first annual Senior Day!  We have a terrific morning planned for the seniors filled with speakers, breakfast, senior superlatives, a class picture in front of the school, and raffle prizes to include two free prom tickets for one lucky senior!

Parents:  Please help us with attendance on this great day!  The tradition of excellence begins with students being present and engaged in every school day, and we need you to partner with us to make sure your students are here on October 14th!

Below are a couple of links your students can use to help them review for the PSAT.  They have been working in their classes as well, but you may want to encourage some extra effort prior to the 14th so they feel prepared for the PSAT.

  • Students will have lots of questions about all the changes as the test approaches. To help students walk into the PSAT feeling prepared and confident, Kaplan is hosting free last-minute prep for the New PSAT. Our Cram Sessions for the New PSAT are intensive, 90-minute online classes taught by expert Kaplan instructors. They are packed with the most important material to boost students’ scores on every section of the New PSAT.  These cram sessions are free, but space is limited, so please sign up today at kaptest.com/psatcram.

Taking the AP exam after learning all semester in an AP class is strongly recommended at Allatoona High School.  Why take an AP exam?  There are many great reasons:

  • The AP test is terrific practice for college exams.
  • Students can earn college credit for the high school course if they score a 3,4, or 5 on the AP test (depending on the college of choice).
  • Students are well prepared after spending a semester with teachers who care, help build skills, and are at the school for extra tutoring in the mornings and afternoons.
  • AP testing builds confident college students!
  • Students who sign up for and take the AP exam are exempt from taking the final exam for that AP class.

Get ahead and register for your AP exam now!  Parents and students can visit our new registration site at the following address:

On the Total Registration site you will find it easy to create an account, register for an AP test, and pay online with a credit or debit card.  You can also pay in cash or check at the school, but it is strongly recommended to register and pay online at one convenient stop.  Once you have entered the Total Registration site, you will click on the tab at the top of the page to locate your school and the prompts will help you create an account.

New this year is our 2015/2016 exam exemption policy for all students who sign up by the end of the 12-week marking period to take the AP exam in May.  Ask any AP teacher or administrator about the details of this opportunity.

Students: You can do it!  You are smart, prepared, and ready to achieve!  Believe in yourself!
