Social Studies

In our K-12 Social Studies program, we are committed to ensuring that all Cobb students are historically, geographically, politically, and economically literate. From the earliest grades, where six-year-olds learn about our country’s patriotic symbols and holidays, to our most demanding and rigorous high school classrooms, where students analyze complex social issues that they will face as adults, Cobb students graduate ready to contribute to their communities as informed problem solvers. Our teachers work to make social studies powerful and relevant. Social Studies is where we learn how to be active and informed citizens in an interdependent world. We want our students to face the future with a firm grasp of where we have been and the skills and understandings they need to have an economically strong, civically engaged, intellectually fulfilling, and personally rewarding future.
