"I am beyond excited and grateful to be joining the incredible 5th grade team at Chalker Elementary! This will be my 22nd year of teaching. I have a BS in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Instructional Technology, both from The University of South Florida. I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year in both 2012 and 2020. In my free time, I love finding new coffee shops, cooking and reading. I'm looking forward to a great year at Chalker." -Ms. O'Reilly, 5th grade
"I am so excited to be joining the 5th grade team at Chalker! I have 5 years of teaching experience, and I graduated from Point University. In my free time, I love to read and be outside with my dog. I am looking forward to the 2023-2024 school year and can't wait to see all that my students accomplish!" -Ms. Rendleman, 5th grade
"I am thrilled to join the fabulous fourth-grade team of educators at Chalker Elementary School. As a graduate of Kennesaw State University, it is gratifying to be 'just down the road' from where my educational journey began. This will be my twenty-sixth year teaching. I was born in Marietta, Georgia and have lived here my entire life. I have many life adventures to share. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, rucking, working out, and spending time with my husband and dog. I have vast experience and knowledge that is ready to be shared with the eager Cheetahs at Chalker." -Mrs. Cole, 4th grade
"I am so excited to join Chalker's 4th grade team! I previously taught 4th and 5th grade French in the Dual Language Immersion program for five years at the GLOBE Academy in Atlanta. Prior to that, I taught private lessons, youth classes and summer camps for six years at the Alliance Francaise d'Atlanta. I also have a background in professional theater and started a bilingual summer camp, Été de Rêves (Summer of Dreams) for Théâtre du Rêves (Theatre of the Dream) which ran for ten summers. I have my B.A. in French from Catawba College in North Carolina and am starting my Master's in Elementary Education this fall through Augusta University. In my free time, I love reading, performing and spending time with my husband, four dogs and two cats." -Mrs. Roe, 4th grade
"I am so excited to be joining the second-grade team at Chalker Elementary. I am a graduate of Mercer University. I also obtained my Master's Degree from Brenau University, my EDS at University of West Georgia, as well as an addition EDS in Educational Leadership at Kennesaw State University. The 2023-24 school year will be my 28th year of teaching. I have taught K-4 for 26 years and two years in Special Education in 6th grade. In my time away from the classroom, I enjoy concerts, going to the lake, and camping with my family. I am looking forward to the most exciting year ever with my new group of fabulous second grade students." -Ms. Dellart, 2nd grade
"I can't wait to start this school year at Chalker! I'm fresh out of my graduate program at KSU, and I am so ready for my first year! I enjoy laying out at the pool or being at the beach. I can't wait to start the year with everyone-- it's going to be a good one!" -Ms. Ocasio, 1st grade
"I am so excited to become part of the Chalker Elementary family. This will be my 25th year teaching. I have an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and English from Roberts Wesleyan College, a master's degree in Special Education from Kennesaw State University and my doctorate in Educational Polies and Social Foundations from Georgia State University. My teaching experiences encompass every grade level from three-year old pre-k babies to high school seniors. When I'm not teaching, I love to run, visit new places, and spent time with my family. "I am so happy to be joining the Chalker Elementary team! This year will be my 13th year in education, and every year is such an exciting time. I hold a bachelor and master degrees in interrelated Special Education Early Childhood from Valdosta State University as well as a specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Berry College. Previously, I taught in both general education and special education settings and served as Lead Teacher before moving abroad. I have spent the past 6 years living and working in Poland. There I worked at an international school as Assistant Principal and Curriculum Manager, then Primary & Lower Secondary Principal. I cannot wait to bring all of my experiences back into the classroom." -Ms. Ray, special education
"Hello! I am overjoyed to join the Chalker family! I am originally from Tuscaloosa, AL. I received my Dual Bachelor's Degree in Special Education and Elementary Education (K-5) from Mercer University, and I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree at Mercer University as well. I have six years of experience working in elementary-level special education, two as a special education paraprofessional and four as a special education teacher. In my spare time, I enjoy crafting, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide. I am looking forward to this school year." -Ms. Wallace, Special Education
"Hi, I am Mrs. Fortson, and I'm excited to be joining the Chalker Elementary Family. I have been an educator for over 15 years. I strive to set a positive example in the lives of my students, parents, and colleagues. I am married and have two children. In my free time, I enjoy making memories with my family and friends. This includes trips to the beach, hunting for waterfalls, or walks around town. I look forward to a great school year and getting to know you all!" -Mrs. Fortson
