Principal

My name is Kevin Carpenter, and it is my honor to serve as the principal of Cheatham Hill Elementary School.  I am thrilled to continue working with our students, staff, and community.  I look forward to building relationships with you as we continue making Cheatham Hill the best school for our students!

I live in Kennesaw with my wife, Allison, and our three wonderful daughters, Theodora (Teddy), Evangeline (Evie), and Georgiana (Georgie).  We love to travel, read books, play sports, watch movies, and root for the Georgia Bulldogs.  I received my B.S.Ed. in Social Studies Education, M.Ed. in Educational Administration and Policy, and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership all from the University of Georgia.  Go DAWGS!

During my career in education, I have served as a paraprofessional, teacher, and assistant principal all at the elementary level.  I believe in empowering and inspiring our wonderful teachers and students to be their best as we strive toward our vision of creating “a school of excellence where ALL students succeed.”

Once again, I am excited about the opportunity we have to work together for the benefit of our students as we “develop the minds, hearts, and spirits of Champions.”  I look forward to serving alongside you this year.  Have a wonderful 2023-2024 school year!

I am incredibly excited to continue as the Assistant Principal at Cheatham Hill Elementary School.  This will be my seventh year as an Assistant Principal, and I am honored for the opportunity to work with the amazing students, staff, and parents in the Cheatham Hill Community.

I have worked in the Cobb School District for 16 years.  My professional career in Cobb started in 2007 where I served as a Professional Counselor for 10 years.  After attending the Cobb County Leadership Academy, I knew I wanted to serve in the capacity of an Assistant Principal.

I am originally from Bermuda and currently live in the Kennesaw area with my husband, Henry.  Our son, Henry, lives in Bermuda with his wife; we have 3 grandchildren.

Cheatham Hill Elementary School is a wonderful school with a reputation for putting students first, which makes me a great fit for this school.  I look forward to continuing to work with our community.

As an Assistant Principal, I will start my 26th year in education this year.  I earned my undergraduate degree in Special Education from Georgia College and State University.  Upon graduation, I moved to Cobb County and began my teaching career at East Paulding High School where I taught special education for 4 years.  After taking a couple of years to stay at home with kids, I returned to education as a Co-Teacher in the general education setting for 11 wonderful years at Ford Elementary.  In 2010, I earned my Master’s Degree in Integrating Technology into the Classroom from NOVA Southeastern University.  In 2013, I became an Education Program Specialist and served Due West Elementary, Kemp Elementary and Lost Mountain Middle Schools for two years.  Six years ago, I came to Cheatham Hill in the Support and Services Administrator position.  I am excited to continue to serve Cheatham Hill Elementary as the Assistant Principal.

My husband, Charles and I have been happily married for many years and have a daughter, Katelyn, and 2 sons, Brandon and Noah.  I enjoy spending my free time at the lake and in the mountains with family and friends.

I am excited to be serving the Cheatham Hill community! As an Assistant Principal, I am looking forward to working with teachers and parents to help students have an amazing school year.

I am excited to begin my 28th year in education and help students learn and grow.  I believe student success is when they meet challenges head on with confidence. I have a passion for helping others and want students to believe in themselves and see that they are can make a difference in their community

I attended Georgia Southern University for my undergraduate degree in Middle Grades Education. I have taught at the elementary and middle school levels and served as a Lead Teacher and Area Lead Teacher. I obtained my Master’s and Specialist’s Degrees in Administration and Supervision from the University of West Georgia. I have had the privilege to serve as a middle and high school administrator in four Cobb County Schools.

I am truly blessed with an amazing husband Matt and two great kids, Kinsey and Zachary. I enjoy watching them play sports, reading, scrapbooking and hanging out with friends and family.   I look forward to an amazing year at a school where all students succeed!
