CITA at the AGC of Georgia Skills Challenge

The Metro-Atlanta region AGC Georgia Skills Challenge was held at the Cobb Civic Center in Marietta, Georgia on October 31, 2023. The Skills Challenge for the Metro-Atlanta region had about 300 participants with over 120 competitors from 20 different high schools. Students in SkillsUSA chapters competed at the AGC Georgia Skills Challenge as their bid to the SkillsUSA Georgia State Leadership Conference. While membership in SkillsUSA Georgia was not a requirement for competing in the AGC Georgia Skills Challenge series, student members were afforded an opportunity to qualify in the core five construction trade competitions: Carpentry, Electrical Construction Wiring, Masonry, Plumbing and Welding. There were eight different competitions at the AGC Georgia Skills Challenge for students to compete. The CITA construction trade programs competed in the following: Blueprint Reading, Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC, Masonry, Plumbing and Welding, AGC of Georgia is set to host eight Skills Challenges in various regions of the state. In total, the AGC Skills Challenges are expected to serve over 2300 students from 100 different high schools.
