Fall Break
We hope you enjoy your Fall Break this week!
Hispanic Heritage Night at Dowell!
It was wonderful to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Night with our staff and families!
Safety & Security Reminder
Thank you, parents, for always showing your Drivers License when visiting the school. Please remember we can only accept the actual ID (not a photo on your phone). This applies during the school day and for ASP. We appreciate your support in keeping our students safe!

It's not too late! We value your voice!
The Cognia Student, Parent, and Staff Surveys give our school community the chance to share valuable feedback about student learning and well-being this year. Your input is anonymous, voluntary, and highly encouraged.
By taking a few minutes to complete the survey, you’ll help provide important information to Cognia (our accrediting agency), Cobb County School District, and Dowell Elementary. This feedback guides us in strengthening our learning environment, supporting our staff, and ensuring every student thrives.
Your voice matters—thank you for helping us continue to grow together!
We are now seven weeks into the school year, and I could not be prouder of our Dowell Dolphins! Our students are truly showing that they know and understand the rituals and routines of our school. They are walking in beautiful WAVE lines, using appropriate voice levels, and showing kindness and respect in all they do. Their manners are amazing, and their Dolphin pride shines through each day.
Our teachers are leading the way with positivity and enthusiasm for learning. The energy in the classrooms and hallways reflects a community that values respect, responsibility, and a love for learning.
This year’s theme, “Creating Tomorrow Together,” is coming to life each day at Dowell. As students and staff work side by side, they are not only meeting expectations but also building habits, skills, and character that will shape their future.
Thank you for your continued partnership in making Dowell a place where we truly are Creating Tomorrow Together—and where every student is empowered to live their BEST life!
ID Requirement: A picture ID is required every time you visit the school. Please show it to the camera at the right front door and press the button (door bell). A staff member will confirm your reason for visiting and verify your child’s information before buzzing you in. Upon entry, always go straight to the front office.
Visiting for Lunch? You’re welcome to sit with your child in the cafeteria during their lunch time. We kindly ask that you not bring fast food or restaurant meals, as it’s not fair to other students. Please check out at the front office after your visit.
Do NOT Enter: For student and staff safety, please do not use the DO NOT ENTER/Buses Only entrance during AM or PM carpool.
Picture Day is Coming
Picture day is October 1st. All students will be photographed for the yearbook. If you would like to order pictures, please order at www.GCIPortraits.com with school code D112.
Today, I am writing to ask for your support of our amazing 5th Graders and their musical journey. By donating just $5.00 your student will receive their own personal musical recorder instrument. They will be able to use their instrument in music class and take it home for practice as well. The $5.00 donation pays for a 2-piece soprano recorder, a cleaning rod, a durable case, and a fingering chart.
If students are not able to purchase their own personal recorder through our school, they will be provided a recorder as part of a class set. These recorders will remain at school and will be sanitized through our cafeteria dishwasher daily after each use.
