Dear Dowell Families,We have an exciting week ahead at Dowell!🧓🏽 Grandparents Lunches—Monday & TuesdayWe are looking forward to welcoming the special grandparents and loved ones who make a GRAND IMPACT in the lives of our students!Please check the attached schedule carefully so you know which day your child’s grade level will participate. All guests will be required to show identification and sign in upon arrival.💃🏽 Hispanic Heritage & Literacy Night—Thursday, September 17We can’t wait to see you Thursday night for our Hispanic Heritage & Literacy Night! We will have food trucks, interactive family literacy activities, cultural celebrations, and lots of fun for everyone. Bring the whole family and join us for this special evening!📝 IOWA and CoGaT AssessmentsAfter the September break, students in the following grade levels will participate in upcoming assessments:Attendance and punctuality are especially important during the testing window. Please make every effort to have your child at school on time each day and avoid scheduling appointments or early checkouts whenever possible.A good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast will also help your child begin the day feeling focused, confident, and ready to do their best. Additional information about the testing schedule will be shared with families.🚗 Carpool Safety RemindersThe safety of our students, families, and staff is our highest priority. During morning and afternoon carpool, please remain in your vehicle and allow Dowell staff members to assist your child as they enter or exit the car.When parents get out of their vehicles or walk through the parking lot, it creates a potential safety hazard and can distract drivers. If you need to park and walk your child to the school entrance, please use the designated crosswalks only. Wait patiently for traffic to stop and for a Dowell staff member to guide you safely across. Please do not walk freely through the parking lot.Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!🎂 Celebrate Your Child’s BirthdayIs your child’s birthday coming up? Celebrate the special occasion by recognizing your child on the Dowell marquee! For $25, your child’s name will be in lights all week. We are currently missing Safe Rider Forms for a number of our bus riders. To help ensure accurate transportation information and the safety of all students, we ask that you complete the Safe Rider Form online as soon as possible.If you have not yet submitted a Safe Rider Form for your child, please complete it at your earliest convenience.Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter and for helping us keep our students safe during transportation.★ HOW DO I REGISTER MY BUS RIDER?Step 1: Download Edulog and create your account:· Open the app and create an account (or sign in if you already have one)· Verify your email/phone number if prompted· In the menu/settings area, select Transportation (or Bus Information)· Choose Add Student (or Link Student)· Enter your student's information exactly as it appears in school records (ex: student ID and/or date of birth, depending on which is expected)· Confirm the student profile, then allow notifications so you can receive important transportation updates· Repeat these steps for each student you'd like to addStep 2: Fill out the Safe Rider Form:· Use this link above to enter the SRP page· Sign in using your Edulog Parent Portal credentials· Enter your student's district ID and select “Look up student”· Confirm your selected student's name, school, and district ID are accurate and select “Continue”· Read and understand the Safe Rider Program, check the confirmation box, and select “Continue”· If your student is 8 or under, complete the Release Consent and then select “Review & Submit”Review the details and select “Submit Consent”Is your student doing a Fun Club?
