Griffin Middle School Named Unified Champion School!

June 1, 2026 — To become a Special Olympics Unified Champion School, a school must demonstrate inclusion for all students by implementing inclusive sports, inclusive youth leadership opportunities, and whole-school engagement.

Out of 220 schools across the country, Griffin Middle School was the only school in Georgia to receive this distinction in 2025.

Earlier this year, schools from across the country were announced on ESPN, including Cobb Schools' own Griffin Middle School.

In celebration, Griffin Middle hosted a hallway parade during Wellness Week to highlight the importance of this honor.

The recognition sends a message to everyone school community that Griffin goes the extra mile to ensure every student has equal opportunities, regardless of circumstances.
