In accordance with Georgia’s Distraction-Free Education Act (House Bill 340), Griffin Middle School will remain a No Cell Phone Zone for the 2026–2027 school year.

Georgia law prohibits students in grades K–8 from using personal electronic devices during the school day. This includes cell phones, smartwatches, headphones/earbuds, tablets, and other personal electronic devices capable of communication, internet access, recording, or gaming.

From the first bell to the last bell, all personal electronic devices must be turned off and stored out of sight in the student’s backpack. Students may not use or have devices out during classes, transitions, lunch, assemblies, or other school activities.

If a parent/guardian needs to contact a student during the school day, please call Griffin Middle School at (678) 842-6917. Student Support will ensure the message is relayed to your student.

Exceptions for documented medical needs or accommodations through an IEP or Section 504 Plan will be honored as required.
