Amie Howard is beginning her third year as an assistant principal at Harrison High School and her 21st year in education, including 14 years in school leadership. She believes the strongest schools are built on meaningful relationships, high expectations, and a shared commitment to helping every student discover their potential. Whether working alongside teachers, supporting students, or partnering with families, Amie is passionate about creating a school culture where everyone feels valued, challenged, and supported.

Amie began her career as a special education teacher and head volleyball coach at East Paulding High School before joining the founding faculty at Allatoona High School in 2008. There, she taught English, coached athletics, and served in a variety of leadership roles before transitioning into administration in 2012. She was named Athletic Director in 2017 and has spent her career supporting both academic and extracurricular programs while helping students prepare for success beyond high school.

Originally from Jacksonville, Alabama, Amie has proudly called Cobb County home for more than two decades. She earned a bachelor's degree in Communications from Jacksonville State University, where she was a collegiate volleyball player. After beginning her career in public relations with Turner Broadcasting, she discovered her passion for education and earned both a master's degree and an Educational Specialist degree from Kennesaw State University. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership at Auburn University.

When she's away from school, Amie enjoys traveling with her family and spending weekends supporting the people she loves most. She and her husband, John, assistant principal and athletic director at Woodland High School, are the proud parents of three sons: Rhett, Grant, and Rhys. Rhett, a Cobb County School District graduate, now competes in collegiate track and field, while Grant is an 11th-grade student who participates in football, wrestling, and track. Family is at the heart of everything Amie does, and she considers it a privilege to serve the Harrison community alongside other families each day.
