Amie begins her second year with Harrison High School team with 20 years of experience in education, including 13 years in administration. She began her career as a special education teacher and head volleyball coach at East Paulding High School before becoming part of the founding staff at Allatoona High School in 2008. There, she taught English and served in multiple teaching and coaching roles. In 2012, Amie transitioned into school administration and was named athletic director at Allatoona in 2017.
A native of Jacksonville, Alabama, Amie has called the Cobb County area home for the past 22 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Jacksonville State University, where she played collegiate volleyball. After working in public relations for Turner Broadcasting, she shifted her focus to education, earning a master’s degree and an Ed.S from Kennesaw State University. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Auburn University and will defend her dissertation in spring 2025.
Amie and her husband John, an assistant principal and athletic director at Woodland High School, have three children: Rhett, Grant, and Rhys. She is excited to support the students and staff of Harrison High School in the 2025–26 school year.
