Lindley-Gray Rezoning Transfers (cobbk12.org)
In accordance with district rules, when attendance zone changes are made, the students affected may elect to remain in the school which the currently attend or enroll and attend the school in their new attendance zone.
- Current Lindley 6th Grade Academy students who are zoned to attend Lindley Middle School may request to remain at Gray Middle School for 7th and 8th grades.
- Current Lindley 7th grade students who are zoned to attend the new Gray Middle School may request to remain at Lindley Middle School for 8th grade.
- In addition, rising 6th grade siblings of any eligible student may also apply to attend Gray or Lindley with his/her older sibling.
In the Comments section of the application, please indicate which school you are requesting your student to attend (Gray Middle School or Lindley Middle School).
For all student transfers, the following provisions apply:
- Students who receive a school choice transfer may attend the school through the highest grade of the particular school prior to re-applying if the student maintains acceptable attendance, behavior, and academic performance;
- Parents/legal guardians are expected to maintain a cordial and cooperative working relationship with school personnel;
- Students who transfer under school choice must reside within the Cobb County School District by August 1 and remain a Cobb County School District resident;
- Parents/legal guardians are responsible for timely transportation to and from the transfer school (no district transportation will be provided);
- If the student receives Special Education services, the school selected must have the Special Education services required by the current Individual Education Plan (IEP);
- If the student transfers at the high school level, he/she must meet Georgia High School Association requirements to participate in competitive interscholastic activities.
Applications will be accepted from February 1 through February 28, 2023.
