December 18, 2025 — The holiday season is shining a little brighter for some Cobb County students thanks to the generosity of local law enforcement and community partners.

This month, the Cobb County Sheriff's Office hosted its annual "Santa on Wheels" event, giving away hundreds of toys to Cobb County students. Cobb County Sheriff Craig Owens and his team gathered at Lindley and Floyd middle schools to spread holiday cheer.

"We want to make sure every kid in Cobb County has a great Christmas, and this is a way we can enhance that by actually getting out and doing it," said Sheriff Owens.

The giving continued this week, with Sheriff Owens and his team distributing gifts to Cobb's youngest learners at Bryant Elementary School. The Sheriff's Office gave more than 150 gifts to kindergarten students, who couldn't contain their excitement as they unwrapped their presents.

"We have to look out for the kids. We love them," said Cobb teacher Kanesha Owens, "We're here for them and whatever they need, we will try to provide that for them."

Austell Police Host Kids-N-Cops

The spirit of giving continued as the Austell Police Department hosted the Kids-N-Cops event and bought toys for dozens of students in need. The department sponsored 60 students from three schools: Austell Elementary School, Hendricks Elementary School, and Garrett Middle School.

The events followed a heartfelt day when Cobb Schools Police officers took students on holiday shopping trips, spreading joy and kindness throughout the community.
