This week your students will have the opportunity to experience each of the Connections classes offered at Lost Mountain. They will visit a different class and content area each day to hear from the teachers of that class.  

    At Lost Mountain, 6th grade students may choose which music class they want to join and will sign up for a music class at the end of the week, after they have visited all their options. After they sign up, students get to stay in that music class for the whole year! Their other connections class will be randomly assigned and will change at the end of each semester. 

Why join music at Lost Mountain? 

• 95% of the student body is involved in band, chorus, or orchestra and we don’t want anyone to miss out!  
• We’ll teach them everything they need to know! Students don’t need ANY prior knowledge or experience to join a music class. 
• All the work can be done in class, during the school day. Students will learn and practice new skills during class time, you can still do your other activities!  
• They don’t have to pick just one! At Lost Mountain, students can take up to 2 music classes to fill up both of their connections classes.  
• Participation in music programs provides built in opportunities for making friends and making special memories in middle school.
