Why is the PSAT/NMSQT Important?

1. College Readiness: The PSAT/NMSQT provides an early indication of your child’s readiness for college-level work and helps identify areas for improvement.

2. Scholarship Opportunities: High scores on the PSAT/NMSQT can qualify students for National Merit Scholarships and other academic awards.

3. Practice for the SAT: This test serves as a practice run for the SAT, giving students valuable experience and insights into test-taking strategies.

We encourage you to discuss this opportunity with your child and consider registering them for the test. If you have any questions or need assistance with the registration process, please do not hesitate to contact your testing coordinators via email:

Marranda Edwards, marranda.edwards@cobbk12.org or Crystal Edwards, crystal.edwards@cobbk12.org

**Note: Students not participating in the PSAT/NMSQT will take the ASVAB, this test is available to students and can provide valuable insights into their skills and career interests. The ASVAB helps students understand their strengths and potential career paths, whether in the military or civilian sectors.
