August 21, 2026 — Once again, the hard work that educators, staff, families, and district leadership put into making Cobb Schools the best place to get an education has taken center stage in the national spotlight. 

U.S. News & World Report ranked 11 Cobb High Schools in the top 100 best public high schools in the entire state of Georgia for the 2026-2027 school year.

These rankings, which reviewed 522 Georgia public high schools, are based on college readiness, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, graduation rates, college curriculum breadth and underserved student performance.

When looking at the best public high schools in all of Georgia, this report ranked Cobb Schools in the following order of the top 100.

• No. 11 — Walton 
• No. 12 — Lassiter
• No. 25 — Pope
• No. 36 — Kennesaw Mountain
• No. 44 — Hillgrove
• No. 46 — Harrison
• No. 54 — Wheeler
• No. 76 — North Cobb
• No. 79 — Allatoona
• No. 89 — Sprayberry
• No. 92 — Kell

When looking at the metro Atlanta rankings for top public high schools, each Cobb school ranks even higher, while 13 Cobb high schools make the top 100 with the addition of McEachern and Campbell.

The U.S. News recognition comes just weeks after Niche also ranked Cobb schools among Georgia’s best, adding another measure of the excellence found across the district.

The rankings are another example of the hard work happening across the District to make Cobb the best place to teach, lead, and learn.
