Winning at Wheeler! Congressman Loudermilk Congratulates Congressional App Competition Winners

March 3, 2026 — Students across the country competed in the Congressional App Contest, where they built their own apps to address concerns they feel impact their communities or themselves personally.
Here in Cobb, Aarav Balaji (1st Place) and Vidya Sinha (3rd Place), from Wheeler, represented Georgia as winners of the nationwide contest.
Congressman Loudermilk visited Wheeler High School to meet with Aarav and Vidya, along with their families, to discuss their creations, present them with official certificates, and offer advice as they continue to learn and innovate.
"When you look at what they're doing with their talents and their knowledge, they're using it for something that would be better for society. That's very impressive and inspirational," said Congressman Loudermilk.

Aarav, who won first place, created an app called CognifyAI that provides an affordable, accessible, handwriting-driven solution for early Alzheimer’s detection. Aarav said he felt the app was necessary after watching his grandmother struggle with Alzheimer’s and volunteering in senior living centers, where he saw the challenges people with the disease face every day.
"Being in the community, it's one of the things I miss while working in DC. Things like this are what bring you back home. You really get a feel for the freedoms we have in this country," said Congressman Loudermilk.
This year, more than 13,800 students from across the country participated in the Congressional App Competition, submitting over 4,600 original apps.
