On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, the November Session of Hendricks Parent University will be held from 7:30am - 8:00 am.  The meeting will be at the school.

This month's topic is reading!  A subject every teacher and parent works hard to both teach and understand.

The development of reading skills is very important in elementary school. Mastery of every subject throughout a student's educational progression depends on being able to read. When parents are tuned into how learning to read progresses from Kindergarten through Fifth grade and beyond, students can be better supported to succeed.

Please join us for the November Session of Hendricks Parent University where the following topics will be addressed:

  • What is phonics and why is it important?
  • What is iReady and how does it assess reading?
  • What is a Lexile Level and why is it important?
  • How can you find your child's Lexile Level and choose appropriate supporting books to further growth?

We will be very happy to meet and talk with our parents and give you what you need to know to support and guide our students toward being great readers!
