Greetings Kemp Cougars,

Recently, I had the honor and privilege of shadowing Dr. Allison Gurksi as part of the Cobb County Aspiring Leaders program. And to be frank, that’s exactly what I was doing, aspiring and shadowing - with the hopes that one day, I would be able to serve a school as an Assistant Principal.

When I arrived at Kemp, I was greeted warmly by the front office staff and of course, Nurse Nikki. At bus duty, two former Bells Ferry students rushed over to give me a giant hug and we were equally surprised to see each other at Kemp! On a tour with Dr. Gurski, I met many wonderful students, faculty, and staff - including Mrs. Hemphill with whom I completed my gifted endorsement class. I was able to see the magic created, not without effort, in every single classroom. I was inspired by your collaborative planning, student engagement, and willingness to do what is best for student success. Kemp Elementary has a reputation for being a school that truly lives out its mission, of Lead, Learn, and Excel. At the end of my day at Kemp, I was hopeful that (eventually), the path to lead at a school just like Kemp would arrive. I had no idea it would be so soon.

I am so excited to join you all as your newly appointed Assistant Principal. I come bringing varied experiences from within and outside of the classroom; the drive to ensure the Kemp community maintains its reputation of being the best of the best; and most importantly, a heart of service. I am honored and excited to join this incredible team and cannot wait to meet all of you.
