Brittanie Brennan

Social Studies

Mrs. Brennan was born in Athens, Georgia and graduated from Georgia College with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and Piedmont University with her Masters in Education. She loves history and taught Social Studies the first five years of her career. She is a proud mother to two amazing daughters!


Ansleigh Carroll

Specialized Education

Mrs. Carroll has been teaching since 2017 and brings a deep passion for English Language Arts to her classroom. She is dedicated to helping students grow as readers, writers, and critical thinkers, and she is thrilled to be part of their educational journey. Outside of school, Mrs. Carroll enjoys traveling with her wonderful husband, exploring new places, and creating lasting memories. She is also a proud dog mom to two beloved pups—Rhea, a spirited pug, and Macho, who brings joy and energy to her life. Mrs. Carroll is excited for the upcoming school year and looks forward to inspiring and supporting each of her students.


Jennifer Carroll

Math

Mrs. Carroll came to Mabry in 2014, she currently teaches 8th grade Math.  Prior to becoming a teacher, her past lives centered around sports and business.  She received her B.S. degree in Sport Management and Marketing from Kennesaw State University. Building on her dance and gymnastics background, she coached gymnastics at Roswell Gymnastics for over 15 years.  She also worked as their recreational gymnastics program supervisor for 4 years before moving on to work for Coca-Cola Enterprises as a Business Development Manager.  Her love of teaching and working with children led her to return to KSU and complete a Master’s Degree in Teaching Mathematics.  Mrs. Carroll is certified to teach mathematics for grades 6-12.


Jill Crossman

Specialized Instruction

Mrs. Crossman started teaching at Mabry in 2016 but has taught in Cobb County since 1999 and teaches 7th grade math. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton. Mrs. Crossman graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1994 then went to college in the fall. She married her husband, Michael, in 2006. They have two Doberman dogs, Chloe and Rocco. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exercising and watching football. Go Dawgs/ Go Falcons. Teaching has always been Mrs. Crossman’s passion. She loves working with children every day and bringing new ideas into the classroom.


Michelle Gottenberg

Language Arts

Mrs. Michelle Gottenberg teaches 7th grade Language Arts at Mabry. She was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Michigan until her first teaching job brought her to Cobb County. Mrs. Gottenberg graduated from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor (Go Blue!) with two Bachelor of Arts degrees—one with a major in psychology and one with a major in elementary and middle grades education. Mrs. Gottenberg is the proud parent of two Lassiter graduates.


Trellys Graber

Math

Mrs. Trellys Graber has been teaching at Mabry since 1994.  She is proud to say that all of her teaching experience has been at Mabry!  She is proud to say she earned her bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education from the University of Georgia.  She also earned her master’s degree in Middle Grades Education from Oglethorpe University, and her specialist’s degree in Middle Grades Math from Mercer University.  She is also gifted-certified in math.  Mrs. Graber is a proud mother of four children who attend Cobb County schools as well.


Evan Howard

Social Studies

Mr. Howard is a proud father of two children and a Cobb County School District teacher since 2010. He is an Auburn Tiger as well as a Jacksonville State Gamecock and holds certificates in the fields of Social Studies, Reading, Math, Gifted, and ESOL.  He started teaching at the high school level, but fell in love with middle school and has taught in all 3 grade levels. Evan’s classroom focuses on communication, relationships and the use of technology. Outside of class, he helps with intramurals and S.W.A.T (students working for the advancement of technology).


Varda Kulkarni

Science

Mrs. Kulkarni started her teaching career in 2004 in cobb county schools. She has been teaching science at Mabry since 2005. She was nominated by Kennesaw State University to receive the Best New Teacher Assistance grant from Georgia Power Company. She was one of the 15 Georgia teachers selected for this grant. Mrs. Kulkarni was Teacher of the Year for the school year 2011-2012.  She has a Specialist degree in Curriculum and Learning in addition to her Bachelor’s degree in Education and Microbiology and a Master’s degree in Agrochemistry.


Dr. Ingle Larkin 

Science

Ms. Larkin began her teaching career at Mabry in 2004. Ms. Larkin came to us from Pensacola, Florida, where she was raised on the Gulf of Mexico. She attended Flagler College in St. Augustine and later earned her teaching degree at the University of West Florida. Ms. Larkin later attended Kennesaw State University, earning a Masters, Specialist, and Doctorate in Instructional Technology. In addition to her interest in technology, Ms. Larkin is a member of the Atlanta Audubon Society, the National Wildlife Federation, the Online Learning Consortium, the International Society for Technology in Education, and the National Science Teachers Association. 


Scott McCord

Math

Mr. McCord is a native of Sandy Springs and graduate of North Springs High School. He attended Georgia Tech where he earned a BS degree in Industrial Management and later went on to earn his MBA from the University of Memphis.  Mr. McCord started his teaching career at Dickerson Middle school in 2008 before transferring to Mabry in 2016.  He has five children and has published two novels under the name S.H. McCord.

Jennifer Miller

Language Arts

Jennifer Miller began her career in education in 1990.  Jennifer has taught multiple subjects and grade levels across Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina, and she is known for her strong classroom management, curriculum expertise, and dedication to student growth.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Shippensburg University, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Michigan University, and a Specialist’s in Instructional Leadership from Argosy University. Recognized as a gifted-certified and Microsoft Innovative Educator, Jennifer is committed to using technology and best practices to support student success.


Jodie Parades

Specialized Instruction

Jodie Parades began teaching in Cobb County in 2001.  She received a bachelor’s degree in education at the University of South Florida, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Lesley University, and a specialist degree in administration from Lincoln University.  She was honored to serve as Mabry’s teacher of the year in 2014-2015. 


Rachel Shively

Science

Ms. Rachel Shively started teaching at Mabry in November 2009. After taking over from a supply teacher position in 7th grade science, she has taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade social studies, and 6th, 7th, and 8th grade reading. Ms. Shively earned her bachelor’s degree at Indiana University of Bloomington (GO HOOSIERS!). While in college, Ms. Shively taught in England and travelled through Europe. After graduating, she taught in Indiana and the suburbs of Illinois. She received her Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Organizational Change from Roosevelt University, and her Specialist in Instructional Design Technology in Science from University of West Georgia. Ms. Shively loves college football and basketball season! Plus, she loves cooking, hiking, kayaking, reading, and most of all hanging out with her kids, Michael, Eric, and Keira.


Meredith Wagner

Social Studies

Meredith Wagner is one of our 8th Grade Social Studies teachers at Mabry Middle School.  She has always had an interest in students from other countries, and her first teaching job was at a bilingual school in Orlando, FL.  Ms. Wagner was born and raised in Florida.  She grew up in Orlando and attended Florida State University where she earned a degree in History and a Master's degree in Social Studies Education.  After a couple of years teaching in Florida, she moved to the Marietta area where she taught at Marietta Middle School and completed a Specialist degree at the University of West Georgia.  In that time, she also got married and had two sons.  After having her sons, she wanted to work closer to home and moved to Simpson Middle School.  Ms. Wagner enjoys doing yoga in her evenings and traveling during the summers. 


Robin Wann

Specialized Instruction

Mrs. Wann was born in New Jersey and moved south at age eleven. She received her B.A. from University of North Carolina-Charlotte (UNCC) and graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Masters in Teaching, with a concentration in Special Education and ESOL. Mrs. Wann was a competitive gymnast for many years, which grew into 25 years of coaching and judging gymnastics. She volunteers for Cobb County’s Special Olympics Organization, allowing her to work with children of various abilities while traveling the world. Mrs. Wann also has two daughters, both whom are Cobb County graduates.
